GETTING DISTRIBUTOR SET

i've been wanting to see if i've been doing this right,here goes

when setting the distributor up in the car at top dead center,what am i susposed to make sure of????

the pointer in the dis.under cap should be pointing where(or at what)????

the #1 plug connector on the cap should be aligned how????

ohhh yea this is a hyd roller,efi,351w

When car is at Top Dead Center #1 (#1 intake valve opens then closes and the timing pointer is on 0 at the ballancer) You set the distributor Button pointing at the #1 plug connector on the cap. Once you start your car you set the timing with a timing light. What you have to watch is that you are on the #1 Top Dead Center if you just set the timing pointer to 0 on the ballancer you have a 50/50 shot at being #1 TDC.
