So I have been hacked off at Citi bank since they sent me a notice saying they were upping interest rate on my Shell Mastercard from 16% to a minimum 23.99%. I don't carry a balance so it doesn't really affect me but it did piss me off enough to cut back to only buying shell gas on that card. Fast forward to today. I get a notice in the mail from them about their rewards program. I am still going to get 5% back on Shell gas but now I'm only going to get 0.5% instead of 1% on other purchases and absolutely nothing on gas other than Shell. They are also limiting my monthly rebates to $20. I can tell you right now that I get more than $20 every month on just gas. I drive a lot so the gas card has always been a good choice. So today I say FUCK YOU CITI BANK! I will never be a Citi customer again as long as I live.

I cancelled all my cards and accounts with nonlocal banks or credit unions.
They all pulled the same crap with me.

What's in your wallet.... I heard that Citi Bank was one of THE worst banks to do business with. I feel your pain. If my bank ( U.S Bank) told me they were raising my interest and said because they could, I'd probably say the same thing and a few more choice words. Just because they are bigger they believe they can push the little people around and nothing gets done to them. They are just like polotics, greedy and corrupt.

You know I have a BP visa with Chase for the same reason I had the Shell card and I have had no problems what so ever with Chase, well other than them needing to be bailed out by the government.

Yep, I only bank with Wright-Patt Credit Union now. I have been banking with them for about 10 years now, and they're the only bank that hasn't tried to screw me. I tried National City for awhile because the nearest WP branch is about 30 min. away, we'll just say it didn't work out between us.

National city was taken over by PNC. Not Citi.

I have been dealing with PNC for years. They have always treated me fairly. Chase bought all my cards, jacked up the rates and minimum payments. One of them I was paying $200 a month knowing I owed it and the minimum was considerably less than that. i didn't pay much attention to the acount I just paid it every month. I think they notied it so they set the minimum at just over $200 meaning they charged me late fee's overlimit fee's put the account into default along with all the other accounts, even tho I never missed a payment on any of the others they put them into default because of what they had done to the one. When I called them to try to get it corrected they told me I didn't need any help because I wasn't behind. They literlally consumed over $1000 and feel justified doing so. My acount wasn't overlimit before they bought it but it was 6 months later after sending them $200 every month and not making any purchases.

I had the same problem..My interest rate jumped to 23.99% for no reason. I called and they said that they had sent a letter out about the rate change a few months earlier and since I didnt reply that meant I agreed. If a person disagreed with the rate increase you could close your account at that time and maintain your current rate. I told them I never got it and requested a copy of the letter. I told them that I wasnt making another payment until they adjusted my rate. They said there was nothing they could do and when the bill came I didnt pay it. They called about 3 weeks later in regards to my account being delinquent and I explained once again that I wasnt going to pay it until I received a copy of the letter they sent out and they corrected my high interest rate. Believe it or not they did adjust my interest rate and they refunded me my late charges and the difference they had charged me with the interest rate increase. I closed the account a week later...

I said f'it i'm not paying my wifes, since she doesn't work, can't get blood for a turnip
5 days after the due date i got a call and i explained i was having trouble making the payments, dropped my rate to 6% lol

See that seriously bothers me. They are doing nothing more than fleecing the people who pay their bills for every last dime. When I called to close my account they didn't even try to keep me as a customer. My wife is canceling her card that she has had since 1998 and I am sure they won't care about that either.

The misses did a credit report on herself a month ago and it seems Citi Bank has been running credit inquiries on her for almost 6 months. She called them and asked WTF and they said they don't know why that is. Now first off we do not or never had Citi bank but we get shit in the mail from them all the time. She sent a claim to the credit bureaus about this matter.
