Not a Mustang but thought it was pretty neat. My boss bought this site unseen and was delievered Jan 16 this year and said he wanted it totally restored for the Memorial Day parade if possible. I thought he was nuts...motor was locked up (592 ci flat head 6), truck was some what solid but had sat outside for years so it needed a ton of body work. Ignition system(dual distributors, 2 plugs per cylinder) went out on a test drive last week so we had protronix's over night their positive ground electronic ignition upgrade and got it all running again...drove it around for hours today just to make sure all was good.

This is the original Bellevue truck that my boss made the city sell for 1500 back when he was the mayor....now he probably spent 25,000 to get it back the way it is now.

It's a 1940 Ahrens Fox...1st fire truck built to go 55mph:lol:

Kenny(Mustangboy) also powder coated a ton of stuff on it:bigthumb

Ahrens Fox made beautiful fire trucks. I would love to see that up close. I have an obvious soft spot for fire trucks.

You are welcome to come by the shop anytime and check it out:bigthumb We have had tons of old firemen come in to look at it and told me all kinds of old stories about driving and riding on it....very cool.

I think it will be on channel 12 news tonight at 5:30 too.

Keep one eye on the truck:D

Notice the shift plate pic...3rd and 4th gear are opposite of every stick in the world...couldn't figure out why it felt like suck a turd shifting out of 2nd until we sand blasted all the rust off the plate and relized we were shifting it 2nd to 4th:eek: Good thing when we first got it running we never got it going fast enough to shift it into what we thought was 4th:yup:

Reminds me of the Monogram plastic model I had as a kid that had the webber single barrel setup, the side poices on the hood removed, and Drag slicks on the back. That is a beautiful restoration. Any chance the pump and tank were saved and operational?

Thanks, Chad!

Everything is still intact for the pumper but the tank has some rot and won't hold water:(
