1993 Lincoln Mark VIII with 149k miles. Runs great and looks just as good. Paint is in good shape with minor fading on rear bumper and some chipping here and there. No rust at all. Interior is in mint condition also with no wear marks on the leather. Exterior paint is Charcoal Metallic Gray, Interior is Black Leather. The Mark VIII has the 4.6 DOHC 32 Valve Intech engine. Car has had the troublesome air ride suspension converted to the Coil Spring setup from StrutMasters. The kit came with spring perches, coil springs, and new shocks. Still rides great and you no longer have to worry about replacing high dollar air ride parts. Has power everything and everything works as it should. Has the onboard computer system that tells you Gas Mileage, Miles till Empty, Fluid Levels, Compass, etc. A/C blows cold, and Heat blows hot. I have a stack of receipts from the upkeep and even have the original window sticker($39083)! These are definitely HARD to find in this condition anymore!! $3500 obo or will accept trades, if you have a trade please post pics and any and all info. Really looking for another Mustang but Im open to offers. Thanks!

Also getting ready to replace the Idle Air Control Valve sometime this week. Right now occasionally the car likes to die when you come to a stop. Doesnt do this with the A/C on so I know its the IACV. Just have to get it ordered and throw it on. Will definitely be done before sold.

Thanks man! Yeah its the nicest one Ive seen and Ive checked out quite a few of them lately. I had a 95 with 120k miles on it before this one and it wasnt half as clean and needed a new brake booster and I sold it for 3k within 4 days of posting it so I dont think this one will be around too long. Id love to just trade it for another Stang but these cars are only liked by certain people. If it was cheap to throw a stick in this thing Id be keeping it. I just want somethin I can bang some gears in damnit! lol

That thing puts you back in the seat pretty good for what it is. A 5 or 6 speed in that would be perfect. I havent driven one in a while but when I did I was shocked at the power it had. Is that the 4.6 dohc? I forgot what engine those have.

chris91

Yep, basically the same motor your Cobra had.

They definately need a 3800+ stall to finish that statement.

3k even takes it!

Scratch that! $2500 takes it until Clueless_racing's Capri sells. If his car sells before mine is sold, Ill just keep it.

Heres a bump for ya buddy. Cant believe its still for sale

chris91
06-13-2010, 01:35 AM
Me either. I sold a 95 that wasnt near as clean and didnt run half as good for 3k within 4 days of posting it. Possibly trading it for a 88 GT though.

sean
06-13-2010, 01:37 AM
Is it on c/l? This is such a nice car.

chris91
06-13-2010, 01:44 AM
Yep, been on CL. Or are you talking about the 88? If so yes it is too. Its a Black automatic GT but looks damn near new and is all stock. I figure if I end up trading that Ill eventually just swap it over to a 5 speed and continue to mod it. That or sell/trade it within 6 months like normal. heh

sean
06-13-2010, 01:54 AM
No I meant the mark. Yours and the capri on here I figured would fly outta here.

chris91
06-13-2010, 01:59 AM
I figured the Mark would be gone from CL like the other one did. I had like 3 people ready to buy it within 4 days of listing it. I had to meet up with one guy at 8 in the morning so he could beat out someone else intested. We drove to his bank and he gave me the money. I have a guy in Columbus wanting to come down to check it out but honestly Id rather trade for this 88 if it goes through. I have never owned a stock one that hasnt been molested yet.

sean
06-13-2010, 02:03 AM
yes that 88 looks clean if its the vert I saw. You need to jump on that. To bad its a automatic. Other than that it looks very clean.

chris91
06-13-2010, 02:13 AM
Nope not a vert. I wont do the vert thing again. THe 94 was enough for me. Guy is in Amelia. Its Black with a red stripe around the trim. That would be the first thing to go though. lol

Bump... I am up to 1500.... lol Movin' slow.

chris91
06-16-2010, 01:13 PM
lol Yeah I have a guy up in Columbus wanting it for 2500 but since clueless sold that Capri I dunno what Ill buy. Also the guy with the 88 seems kinda flakey. I asked him when he could meet up and havent heard back from him. Who knows, Ill probably just end up keeping it. I cleaned out the IACV and it runs good now.

I seriously doubt Ill mod this thing other than MAYBE a set of wheels and maybe some lowering springs.

Pitbull1052
06-16-2010, 03:10 PM
what wheels you thinkn?

chris91
06-16-2010, 03:17 PM
Who knows, wont be for a long time if I do it. Thats IF I even keep it. Im just sayin how I wont mod this car other than those things IF I do.

Jesse, hearing your Mark makes me wish i had mine still. Love the sound of it

An unmodified MarkVIII...Bleh. That motor loves RPM and the stock configuration suffocated it. I have proven repeatedly that those cars actually get considerably better mpg with 3.73 gears over the stock 3.07,3.08 or even 3.27

Do not really care about modding this thing at all. Not sinking money into it considering what they sell for modded or not. Still for sale or trade.

You're gonna like the sound a lot more after I put "TRUE" exhaust on it... straight pipes only fly sooo long before I start attracting cops... X-pipes, magnaflows, and true duals.

Sorry to clog your thread Chris, btw I spotted you yesterday

You sure it was me? I only drove from my house over off of Salem to the Mt. Washington Kroger yesterday. I rarely drive this thing at all.

Yeah, def. you... spot-on to the pics. It was about 6pm blacked out chrome. Def. you, heading from the Salem direction. You know just as you go down that hill, there is an appt. on the right with a green awning? I was parked there in my Ranger right out front.

Oh, and for those that do not know... the '93 model Mark Viii's are the FASTEST production Mark Viii's due to the ECU that Ford put in them. Nothing like an OBD1 4.6L DOHC with only 2 o2 sensors!

Thanks for the info there Stangman! Its definitely no slouch. I just really want something I can shift damnit! And no, Im not going through the hassle of swapping one into this car. lol

a 6 speed would be sweet in it!!!!!! lol

There are guys on the Lincoln board with 6 speeds, blowers, longtubes, hub-swapped running 10" wide mustang wheels, Cobra R hoods... STILL while being able to almost lay frame with factory airride...

Makes me reeeeeaaalllllllllyyy jealous of those guys

My Mark Viii looks identical to Chris's, but his is a little less totalled and a whole lot better looking, lol

Oh, and to put a stick shift in a Mark Viii... all you need for the interior is the pedal assembly from a thunderbird supercoupe... how cool is that?

You're making it sound too easy there Jessie. lol Gotta buy a tranny(if it was going to be done I would go t56), then probably another 6-800 in odds and ends to get it all buttoned up. Im not gonna drop that kinda coin just to swap this thing to a stick. And then after all was said and done it would still be worth what Im askin. hah

Nahhhhh... that would be a car worth a little bit of money! Shoot... next thing you do is slap an eaton on top and a cobra double R hood on it... a set of saleen speedstars, 4.10's, longtubes and a tune! but yes... that is dreamland for all of us

chris91
06-25-2010, 11:43 AM
Blah.. In order to slap a eaton on ill have to buy c heads. Instead of doing all that id rather just start with a cobra, they look sooooo much better anyway. :)

I thought Kennebell made a B-head manifold? but it had a heat exchanger inside it and wouldnt fit under the stock hood... but a Double R would have been a perfect fit...

No clue. Never checked into it cause I really never thought of modding this thing too seriously. If I was going to do anything it wouldve been simple bolt ons. But Im letting it go so lets find someone to buy this thing!
