The wife and I just got ours yesterday, And I LOVE IT !!! We had the Devour and they SUCKS A$$ !!! DO NOT get the Devour whatever you do, It has that MOTOBlur crap and we had nothing but problems with it ... And if you do any social networking (Facebook/Myspace/Etc.) The Devour puts ALL of your friends from them in your contacts list, And you can't remove them !!! So then you have not only your phone contacts, But also all of your friends from the Social sites ...
And right now online they are offering Buy one get one, And we paid only $199 for the 2 of them ... It has some really cool features ...

Just my $.02

I have the HD2 which from what I could see the only difference is the operating system. I love my phone becuase its windows mobile and frankly you can do anything in the world with it. There are thousands of apps available and I am able to upgrade to the new windows 7. Yes it's a windows mobile phone, with the snapdragon processor.

4g is a joke btw. I did some research and found out that Verizon is only upping the signal strenth and changing the radio frequency so that the signal will be reconized at 4G. But yeah its only a 3G signal that is being boosted to go just over the threshhold of the 4G specifications. But anyways stay away from AT&T. All of there new plans are charging for the amount internet usage you use in stead of offering unlimited internet across the board. They are saying that they are wanting to get rid of cluttered bandwidth. And from what I heard is that other carriers are supposed to follow suit. I am with T-Mobile and I havn't yet had any problems and there signal strenth is really high and there data transfer system is upgradable to the 4G by them just turning up the gain on the towers. They said that was the reason for them taking so long to get 3G. There actually going to 4G sometime next year and not going to have to spend all the money to upgrade the towers. This is how there keeping all the prices down.

All in All I can just say that you need to do a little research and make sure that the company and phone systems are giving the best bang for the buck.. I pay $145 after taxes and fees for 2 phones and UNLIMITED EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The incredible is the closest thing to an Iphone.

yeah the android software with the 1 ghz processor makes for a nice phone. i like the phones but they make them so carrier dependant for software. the android market is nice but installing any 3rd party software is rough. some of the best software is from developers whodont answer to anyone but themselves.

Its open ended and can be modded and easily done. There are several forums that offer how to's and and step by step support.

thats cool but does it void the warranties? I just know that the windows mobile devices are open when you get them and you can install anything. You don't have to go through app stores to get software and don't have to mod the phone to install them.

I woould think if you brick either the warranty is void.

Not anymore. Got my new Sprint EVO yesterday. This is the baddest cell phone you can buy. Makes the iphone look like a toy. When 4g comes to cincy later this year it will be badazzz.

Does everything the i phone does and more. Even has hdmi output. 2 cameras and many more features. Anyone with sprint needs to get one.

Maybe you guys can help me out...

So I have a plan through Cincinnati Bell that includes unlimited data and I have an old school Nokia on the plan. As I undertand it, if you get a "smartphone" from CB, they'll charge you more. Is that correct?

If so, I'd like to just pick up an unlocked phone, swap SIM cards and use it to my heart's content at the current billing rate.

So- what are good phones to run on CB's network in that case? AFAIK, if it can run on T-Mobile or AT&T, it'll have a SIM card and work with CB. Is that correct too?

Thanks

It's not.....

The 3G and 4G threshold that the carries are using to distiguish there signal greatness is not important if they are not turning up the gain on the system.

The only thing Spint is doing is turning the gain up on their cell towers so that the signal goes over the 4G signal strength limit just so they can say they have 4G. I have looked at all the carriers and it seems to me there really isn't any one of them that stand above the rest. It's just who has the towers in your area. I personally have T-Mobile and yes they have their down falls but I have been happy with the service and the customer service is great. I have had problems with all the other cell phone providers exept Cincinnati Bell who usually treated you right. All the other providers are too expensive and want to charge now for every little thing, so as far as I am concerned they will never get my buisness.

Do you play golf? If so I saw a cool golf app that uses GPS for almost every course in the US. It will tell you how many yards you are from the pin on whatever hole your playing on.

You can use any t-mobile phone on cincinnati bell they use the same bands. All you have to do is unlock the phone and switch the sim cards you dont even have to tell them. Thats the best part about gsm carriers:bigthumb

I stopped in the verison store in the florence mall tonight. Was talking to a rep and he reccomended the LG Ally. Cool phone, slide out keyboard and a touch screen keyboard. 50,000 apps for free with another 30,000 due out soon! For the price, 199 with a 100 rebate with my upgrade, and 30 a month for the data plan, I am really thinking about it. Anyone heard anything about it good or bad?
This will be my first smart phone with data!!

I have Verizon and love the service. Blackberry storm. Has a lot of apps. I have a GPS golf app I use every week in a golf league. All the social network apps and instant email thanks to blackberry.

Gonna be hard to get me to go with droid but I have been tinkering with my brothers and its pretty slick.

Actually that's not true. Sprint uses a completely different frequency and radio for the 4G. I was in Washington state last month and was able to briefly get a 4G signal, and with 1 bar of service managed a 2.58Mbps down and 1.33Mbps up on a speed test on my evo. Compared to the 800/500bkps I usually see, that was a pretty substantial improvement. With a stronger signal, and a little more development time, it should be a pretty healthy system.

Still won't be as fast as T-Mo's HSPDA+ system that they're rolling out, but it's still pretty damn fast.

problem with sprint was just like last week. edgewater, 3 bars, with sprint i was getting 0 to 1 bar, then it would jump to roaming and i've have 3, then it would disappear again.

if it could have stayed in the roaming, i'd love it. it was the same problem last year at bowling green.

I have my phones hacked so I can enable "roam only" for situations like that. So far with the evo, I haven't had any reception problems at all, but with the pre I had last, it was more common. They must not have had much luck with their radios or something.

Switching to Verizon would definitely be easier for situations like that, but I like Sprint. The cheap plans and new phone every year have me hooked.
