Got home tonight to find a msg on my phone saying...please call us asap because your credit card is being misused.

Come to find out that some assholes in Dublin California were to busy having fun with my credit card at Target. I think if they can find your info you should be able to find them through whatever means and beat the living fuck out of them....now, I have to cancel my card, fill out paper work, wait several days before I can use my new card. This is frustrating as hell...but at least my credit card company is paying close attention to what's going on...I applaud them for that. God, I hate fucking thieves. They get away with it while at the same time making your life suck....now it's almost like you have to claim your innocence to the CC company. BLEH, I can go on all day with this shit, I'm sure other's have encountered this same bullshit.

Have I mentioned hackers can fuck off and die.

Who is your card through? I am in the process of switching CC's. I know it soundstrivial, but my current CC sent me the annual rules/bylaws as they always do. My problem is that they had the spanish side on the main letterhead side and english on the back. I take offense to this and after 10+ years with them will be dropping them this month. Sorry, but 90%+ english speaking country equals english as primaryt language. Thanks

Sorry to hear that, every time I buy something online, I get a little worried something like this is going to happen. Good luck with it, and I hope they get the bastards.

Worst that happened to me was someone stole a bill from my mailbox and used my signature to do split deposit fraud. The went to 3 banks I have never been to and deposited stolen checks into my account. They wrote the check for 1000, deposited 700 and took 300 in cash. Did it 3 times on a saturday. As far as I know they got away with it. The only reason I didn't get any heat was because I found it before the bank did. Online banking is cool!!!

I ignore those texts. My bank calls if someone is using my card illegally.

The texts that usually come in are actually phishing to get my info.

I do have to agree with you to some extent, I did ignore the first msg on my machine til I got another call a couple of hours later, somewhat ignored that one til I opened up my e-mail and big bold black words telling me to call them...then I listened. I usually double check phone numbers etc before calling my CC.

But I do have to say when I called my CC I got someone who could barely speak a lick of english, I was a little sceptical at first...so I started asking them questions....like this phone call is being monitored and recorded for future use...her english cleared right up lol

A guy here at work got a phone call saying they were from the bank and that there was some unusual activity on his credit card. They then wanted his CC #. He hung up and called the bank back and it turned out it was a phishing scam trying to get his card number.

I never call a number back left on my machine nor do I click any links in any e-mail. I'll use the numbers I have or links I've saved for my accounts. That way I know I'm talking to the service provider and not some scam artist.

Yea, anyone asking to call and then give CC# should be a very big red flag...I think one other time something similiar happened and I was suspicious and called the police to see if they could track the last number that I received, they couldn't because it wasn't life threatening but did direct me in the right direction to the phone company then they were able to tell me exactly where the phone call originated from...when I called the number back, the girl on the other end was VERY surprised I found her and started asking me how in the hell I found her number....and she thought I was suspicious...it's funny how some things work out when the shoe is on the other foot.
