so i got a good start on the project i removed the fenders, hood and bumper cover along with a bunch of other small junk. Then pulled the motor with the trans attached to it and also dropped the k-member. the rust was bad enough to pull the k-member bolts through the frame, you can see it from the outside shot of the rail on the drivers side. i am replacing both rails with a nice set of used ones and painting the engine bay red to match the car and hiding as much as possible. i know there are a bunch of fox cars that need this done so i figured i would post up and show the progress. and keep track of the hours involved to do it. so far i have six hours in it to get where i am at.http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac301/inferno50/Mustang/714.jpg

Hope the rails go in smoothly for ya. Im sure this will be a great thread considering that most Ohio foxes need them replaced or fixed. Good luck with it.

I have a 66 mustang with way better frame rails than that.

Did you get the motor out the night I was over there?

I ran into issues finding time to work on the car but I finally installed the new frame rails and finished welding them up Saturday. Looks good. time to grind the welds aircraft strip the entire engine bay and paint her up. New k member is also on the way from pa racing.pics coming soon.

Are you talking about the fiberglass ones or do you know somone who makes steel. I probably wouldn't want to do glass.
