Figured time to start a new thread. I've had the car 5 days now, so I feel like i'm lagging!

Heres a couple stock pics from the cars inception

http://beef-cake.net/2011gt18.jpg

So far, Got the windows tintend 90% and the windshield 50%. Used a BMR swaybar relocation kit to make room for the wheels. Got my 15x10 race stars on the rear and 17x4.5 greg welds on the front. Running MT ET Streets on the rear and hoosier 26x7.5x17's on the front.

I also got my CDC chin spoiler on as well. Had a clear bra done on the car already to save the paint when i'm rocking 10's in the 1/4! ;)

http://beef-cake.net/2011gt22.jpg

Right now the car is at my buddy's shop getting the 4.10 in and getting the axle tubes welded. Tomorrow I'll have my Evo Tune and Xcal 3.

My Saleen Grill got here today too, along with a speed of sound gauge pod. No idea what i'll be putting in there yet, I originally ordered it for the 2010.

My Cobra Jet drag springs will be here on Monday.

Plans are obviously for a full exhaust, full suspension, geared towards drag racing, but the car will still be a daily driver, sans rainy, snowy days.

Once the cai's and converters are tested out more, that will be going in as well. Along with i'm sure a 1 piece lightweight d/s. I'll probably throw in a k&n air filter for now for a bit more flow.

I'm dropping the hood off tomorrow night along with some underhood pieces to get some custom paintwork done as well!

More to follow!!!!!

Finish Line in Milford pulled the engine and sent it over to BES.

Getting some custom Diamond pistons, 10.1, going down from the 11.1.

Manley rods, clevite bearings, sfi balancer. JPC Ported heads and cam regrinds,

JPC Lineloc, autometer gauges, not sure what we're doing on the fuel system as of yet.

Thought i'd update the thread.

We rushed to get everything back together for the Bradenton NMRA. It was a push, but we got it all done.

Heres what we got. BES Built shortblock with Diamond Pistons and Manley Rods. Bischoff also did a mild valve job on the heads, but we didn't do anything crazy because of the upcoming JPC Heads / Cams.

We had BES set us up double keyed for the ATI balancer going on.

Finish Line humped it and got it back in the car and everything working great.

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild1.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild2.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild3.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild4.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild5.jpg

For the fuel system. Nothing is available yet for the 2011's. Fore is working on it, but not to market just yet.

We went with a 2010 Fuel tanks we had cleaned and boiled. We added a Fore Hat with Dual Walbro 255's. We also added a Fore Fuel Filter and Fore Fuel Pressure Regulator. Rails will be coming soon, for now we are still dead heading, but the system is working good.

We went with 8 feed lines, and actually used the stock feed line for our return. It worked out really well.

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild10.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/rebuild11.jpg

We set the regulator at 40 base PSI and it's boost activated to give about 1 psi per pound of boost. The regulator actually helped calm down the big 60's. Before the return system, the stock system stays about 55psi all the time. And it can play havic with the big injectors at low rpm and idle. The regulator smoothed out 90% of that.

I went with the Autometer Cobalt's for the gauges as I think they are one of the best looking gauges and match the interior really well. We also did a Roush Gauge pod for the Dynojet Wideband.

Day

http://beef-cake.net/gauge1.jpg

Night

http://beef-cake.net/gauge2.jpg

For a little sizzle, I went with some custom made sill plates.

http://beef-cake.net/sill2.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/sill3.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/sill4.jpg

To make burnouts a little easier, we went with a JPC linelock. It's a single solenoid system and works great so far. Haven't had any issues out of the kit. The fitment is great, and the switch location has worked out really good.

I actually had JPC send us an extra matching switch for the fuel pumps. We wired them in to where we can turn them off for things like loading tunes, or waiting in the lanes with the datalogger running.

http://beef-cake.net/linelock1.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/linelock3.jpg

beefcake
03-29-2011, 06:30 PM
We then swapped out to a pulley that is showing us about 13 psi. Peak hp is around 11 psi at 6600 rpms. We are running very conservative on the tune to start with. 11.0 A/F with 17 to 18 degrees of timing. The car made 585 rwhp and 486 ft/lbs on
Dog House Racing's Dynojet.

http://beefcake.biz/11dynonewmotor1.jpg

Next up is the Boss Intake install. We sent the car to our fab buddy Rob Lewis at Rogue Race Cars in Williamsburg, OH. A new tube to the intake was going to be needed. The Vortech Kit inverts the throttle body. With the Boss Intake, the inverted throttle body hits the hood. So? What now?

How bout 90 degrees? The trick is the bolt pattern does not match. Luckily Rob is a talented individual and threw the adapter on the lathe and cut it in half, did a little rotating, welding, and machining, and voila! A perfect adapter!

http://beef-cake.net/bossintake1.jpg

Here are a few pics of where we are at right now with the car.

http://beef-cake.net/bossintake2.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/bossintake3.jpg

http://beef-cake.net/bossintake6.jpg

Dyno #'s on the Boss Intake will be coming tomorrow! The JPC Heads and Cams are awaiting install this weekend as well. Unfortunately those results are going to be part of an article for 5.0 Mustang and Super Ford Magazine. So, you'll have to wait for the article from Michael Johnson!

Beef has been using the roller of Dog House Racing (Rocky & John). The dyno is at John Gavey's outside of Owensville. Follow St. Rt. 50 to Bucktown Rd and make a left.

time for some updates

added the JPC heads / Cams. We ended up pulling the Boss Intake as the 2 just didn't seem to like each other. As far as the power gains, it's coming in 5.0 lol.

We also finished up the fuel system on the car.

We got rid of the lil 2 into 1 fitting we had and added Fore's nice billet 3 in to 1.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/fore3.jpg

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/fore2.jpg

The piece actually fit in real good under the stock pastic piece under there. It tucks back a little more, but i left it forward for pic purposes.

We also got the inline filter added as well. Each pump has a nice filter under it, but this adds a little protection.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/fore1.jpg

On the old setup we were running the #8 to the regulator and then returning off the regulator. Still dead heading at the rails.

With the metco rails, we were able to go to a true return system.

For the fuel line, we are using Earls Pro Lite. Brian @ Finish Line really likes it alot more than steel braided. It's lighter, more flexible, but plenty durable. Still looks real good too!

http://www.mpsracing.com/images/products/Earls/pro_lite.jpg[/QUOTE]

Got the Circle D converter installed. It actually did better than I predicted. The converter combined with a 2.85 vs 3.12 pulley dropped 60's from 2.0's to a best of 1.46.

Best e.t. so far has been a 10.14@139 mph. That was compared to the 11.0's we'd been seeing on the new lower compression engine.

The T trim blower has a 3.75" inlet. The car has actually been running the 3.5" tube that Vortech sent with the pre production kit. I never even thought about the fact that the inlet pipe was corking us.

TT Mike R @ Vortech and he seemed to think a 4" inlet would be good for maybe 1 psi but maybe as much as 40-50 rwhp.

I have actually been overspinning the blower by about 5000 or so rpms with the 2.85 pulley. We tried a 2.75 anyway, got some slip, and still ran a 10.15.

Thinkin about a larger inlet got me thinking about a blower more matched to the rpm's I am seeing on it. I sent the head unit back to vortech. I already had the heavy duty gear case, so it was pretty easy for them to upgrade the blower to a "JT" trim.

The differences are

Blower--RPM-------CMF-------HP Rating
T------55000-----1200--------825
JT-----60000-----1450--------1000

We swapped back to the 2.85 pulley as well as it will put the blower right at the top of it's range.

The air charge should be cooler too.

We also got the new inlet fabbed up. 4" all the way through. We also cut down a lot of extra tubing from the blow off as well.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/vortech4.jpg

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/vortech5.jpg

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/vortech6.jpg

Some comparison pics on the 2 tubes.

The pics do not do the justice to the size of difference in the filter either. It's overall about 50% bigger.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/vortech7.jpg

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/vortech8.jpg

Took off the et streets and swapped to a 295/55/15 drag radial, and it's worked well. That's what the 1.4 60's have been on.

Few things in the works.

In the process of finishing up valve springs on the car. Got one side done last night. (Not fun on a 32v while in the car).

While we were at it, we through in some billet oil pump gears.

We are also testing out Exedy's new clutch packs for the 6r80. Their parent company is the OEM manufacturer for Ford, and we are going to test them out and see what kind of bite we get.

Since we have the trans out, Circle D is reworking the converter for a little more stall. Hoping to get into the low 1.4 60's, and also not drop so much rpms on the shift.

I'm having the valve covers and engine cover done in kona blue to match the car and try to put a little bling under the hood.

Also, toying with the idea of a little hit of spray for a little bump if I need it during the nmra races.

Thought I'd throw some updates in here.

Now that we had the tune dialed in good, we decided it was time to put the boss intake back on. It made good power on the car, and I really liked how it looked as well.

I think the engine bay looks alot cleaner / meaner now.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month1.jpg

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month2.jpg

On the dyno with the Boss and 13 psi we made 698. Without the Boss and 16 we made 709.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month7.jpg

We are now sitting at 16psi with the boss, but have not dyno'd it yet.

On the front suspension we went to Double Adj Strange front struts with 175lb coil overs and Maximum Motorsports caster / cambers.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month5.jpg

On the rear we went with Double Adj Strange rear shocks and a Team Z anti roll bar.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month3.jpg

We added Speed Concepts Cross Drilled / Slotted rotors to give a more aggressive side stance.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month11.jpg

I put about 5000 miles on the car since February when we got the new engine back together. I hit every NMRA event and finished 9th in the points. We were sitting at 5th going into the World Finals and going out first round dropped us to 9th with the double points at the final race.

However, the world finals were still good to us.

We were also lucky enough to get invited to the 5.0 King of the Street Competition.

In addition, we ran our first 9 second quarter miles pass.

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month6.jpg

So, everything that we wanted to do this year, we accomplished. I finally have not only a 9 second "street car", but a 9 second car I can hop in and drive for hours at a time.

For the World Finals / King of the Streets we cleaned off all the stickers other than my Stainless Works hood wrap to give the car a nice clean look!

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/month10.jpg

For the winter, we really don't have a ton to do. We decided that we are going to run E85 in the car. We stepped up to a set of ID1000 injectors in the car.

We took the feed line from 8 to 10 and the return line from 6 to 8.

We had been running a fore hat and 2010 tank, when we first went to a return style, there wasn't anything available for the 11's. We never really took the time to mess with the wiring, so the only thing that never worked on the car was the fuel gauge.

JPC Racing now has a great fuel hat that fits the 11 tanks. We added the JPC hat and now the gauge works perfectly as it should.

http://store.jpcracing.com/assets/images/2011-3.jpg

The last thing to do for the winter is the blow thru conversion. I have pretty much maxed out the blow off on the car as well. We are switching to the blow thru setup and will also be adding a 2nd Vortech race bypass. With the conversion we will be able to vent to the atmosphere instead of recirculating the air. Car should sound pretty nasty now.

Rob at Rogue race cars will be fabbing up a new intercooler to intake tube. It will go to 4" in the center which should give us range to between 900/1000 rwhp if we need it. Also with the blow thru setup, we will be able to pull the intake tube at the track. I am guessing this should be good for another 40 to 50 rwhp.

To add a little clearence under the hood. We added a H.O. Fibertrends 3" cowl hood. Plated hooked it up with some custom artwork.

1000cc injectors on e85? with what 75 psi base fuel pressure. ok lay down 1000rwhp and ill admit youre right. from everything ive seen people are maxing 96-100lb injectors at 790-850 rwhp and 65+ psi base fuel pressure. and with base fp that high youre up to 85+ psi at full boost you need a hell of a pump to keep up at those numbers. what does your pump setup flow GPH?

ID1000's are 95.2lb/hr that boss was running 105lb/hr injectors. and it was a stick car aka dyno queen. also who knows if it was a happy dyno wheres the track numbers?

good luck!

walbro 255 flows 233.4lph@ 43 base psi lets say youre running 50 psi base fuel pressure and 23 psi of boost with a 1:1 boost ref regulator you're now @ 73 psi in which the walbro now flows 189.3 lph. that comes out to 50.0074 gph x2= 100.01 gph at full boost

a shop owner/tuner on the bullet running e85 figured out going by fueling requirements from the ecu they were just shy of 1100 crank hp when he maxed out his fuel pump that was flowing 120gph max via his calculations.

you mentioned making 1050 rwhp if you needed it x the accepted 15% auto drivetrain loss = 1207.5 crank hp with 20 gph less pump.

i was running 60lb injectors with 2 walbros making what i am now fine. I now have an extra pump (50%) increase. and the id 1000%'s which are a 37% increase. I think it will be fine for what i'm doing. If i did go to make more power, it will be with spray, and i will have a seperate fuel cell for that.

you made those numbers on gas right? then increased your injectors 37%.. e85 alone requires almost 30% more fuel.

ok.... so you made 700hp on gasoline. then switched to 37% bigger injectors and e85. just the switch alone requires around 30% more fuel. now you want to make 50% more power so i hope you were around 50% injector duty cycle on the 60's. are you following me or do you need to call a sponsor

i made 709 rwhp on the dyno. i don't plan to be over 800 rwhp

my math is 8.862%, 709/800=8.862

i don't know where your 50% number is coming from

dsmawd350

if you dont plan to be over 800 i think your setup will be just fine! i was going off of where you said you would step up to 900-1000 plus an extra 50 at the track with the filter off.

thats potentially 1050rwhp, 50% more than 700. therefore if you want to make 50% more power you need 50% more fuel. so i was saying hopefully you were only around 50% duty cycle on your 60's cause the 37% increase to 95's basically just compensated for the 30% more fuel needed by e85..

gotcha, i meant the 4" tube would give all the range needed on the meter.

you can rework the stock meters on these if you know what your doing. I'm figuring around 750rwhp the way the setup is and i figure probably another 50 with the tube off. My buddy picked up 35 rwhp on his with an almost identical setup at 8 psi

yeah i mean the guy said with 96s and 68psi base he did 816rwhp on a mustang dyno @ 75% duty cycle on E85
which is plenty of head room. but thats alot of fuel pressure close to 90psi with 20 lbs of boost just have to make sure the pump is flowing enough volume at those high of pressures. i went with 160's which will be plenty of inj and let me keep my base at 43.5. which gives me a better chance of not running out of pump

we'll see how she looks on the dyno. there are some new pumps that are plug and play if it looks like were running low. rated for e85, plugs in the same as the walbros

they are e85 rated too

We finished up the e85 / blow thur conversion tonight.

Had Rob @ Rogue Race Cars in Williamsburg, hook it up.

Figured while we were at it some v bands would be a good idea.

If you get the setup in blow thru from vortech / paxton, the straight pipe is about 9-10 inches.

With the tubular radiator support deleting the fat factory piece, we were able to get our straight piece to 13.5"

Fired her up tonight and the signal seems really good, more straight is always good.

The race bypass Vortech said is good for about 800 crank HP, we should be getting close to that at the wheels, so we added a 2nd race one.

The car sounds so much better venting to the atmospher with the blow thru vs recirculating with the draw thru.

Lund sent me a new tune to get the car going. It started once, but wouldn't idle more than 30 seconds, then wouldn't run again. Fuel seemed on the rich side as it was getting to our eyes

Quick text and he shot me another file a few minutes later. Car fired up and idled good, did a 2 minute log at idle, then started some revs, and the car was stumbling a little bit.

Sent the log, 5 minutes later, had a new file. The car idles the best it ever has. The revs up to 6k were smooth as silk.

Jon really is an amazing tuner. A completely new setup to my car and he got it dialed almost perfectly from what I can tell in just 10 minutes.

It was pouring rain and I didn't have a ride to take the car with me, but I think it's going to run out really good. We'll be fine tuning it soon.

We upgraded the lines to 10 feed, and 8 return. We also added ID 1000 injectors. These injectors are the poo. It will be all I recommend to people from here out. (I have great pricing on them too btw! lol, gratuitous sales plug)!

and for this year

Ford Racing has produced 10 new Hi Po Short Block for the coyotes. I was fortunate enough to be one of the ones that Ford has asked to test out the block for them.

The blocks basically have a smaller water jacket on the bottom of the block, on the top of the short block in the large water jacket, they have filled the center up.

At the type of power levels i'm running now, the block eventually gives at the top of the cylinder wall. This should hopefully help that.

This pic gives you a good idea.
