I am selling my 1992 Mustang GT. This car, minus the gauges, is 100% stock, has a clean title and exactly why I bought it. The car still has stock exhaust. My plan was to build it a 9-second Mustang but I need to sell to pay off my current car and have money for tuition.

Price: $2,950 OBO

The good: This car is one of the cleanest Fox body Mustangs you will find. If you see a Fox body Mustang out driving around, chances are it's been ragged and beaten to death; this hasn't. The car still has the stock clutch, if that tells you anything and it has never been wrecked.

The bad: Although the clutch is fine, the throw-out bearing is on its last leg. The car has been garaged for the past 6-years and only driven 500-miles. Because I let it sit for a while, the starter (which I do have) needs to be replaced and you need one tire while the rest have ~40% tread left. The front bumper has a few scratches where the owner before me bumped into a mail box post. The rear-main seal leaks and the passenger side door handle needs to be fixed. While letting the car idle last month, the catalytic converter was in full contact with a piece of cardboard and begin smoking creating a very minor fire. The carpet under the console started to discolor and I have taken a picture. The car idles rough and came to the conclusion that the converter is clogged (the reason why it got so hot) and more than likely why it doesn't idle as smooth as stock. I can still drive the car as I back it out of long driveway to wash it off every now and then but cannot take it out on the road since I do not have any license for it.

The only blemish on the Car Report report was the odometer reading. The guy who owned the car before the previous owner thought there was 72k miles on the vehicle and reported it as such.

I have personally witnessed some of these cars going for $6-$10k+ range and selling, which is why I think I'm offering it at a fair price. Like stated in the ad, the car isn't perfect but you would be hard pressed to find one that is better looking.

The car is sold AS IS. There are two mechanic shops within a 5-mile radius of where the car is, so if you want to use your trailer to transport the car there to have it independently inspected, you're more than welcome to. Just let me know a few days in advance (Saturday or Sundays are the best) so that I can arrange my schedule to do so.

The AC did work when I got the car 6-years-ago but I'm sure it needs to be recharged now.
