I need to get a battery for the car and wanted to get another dry cell. At one time I had a red top that was pretty much junk. That has been 10 yrs ago, so I didn't know if they had improved and whether or not they'll work with a 130 amp alternator and live.

I thought the yellow tops were suppose to be better but I'm not sure. What about Odyssey?

They are absolute junk. 3-6 months tops. And they will only replace them like 3 times

They are absolute JUNK and I wouldn't reccomend them for anything. I do however like the duralast golds from autozone. They'll take a beating and hold a charge twice as long as a craptima!!

I generally use Sears batteries because of cost, but the motorcraft batteries have lasted the longest for me.

Had 4 in two years. Only thing good about them is their warranty.

Went through 3 red tops. Pitched a fit at advanced and they up graded me to a yellow top. That one has lasted me for the last 2 years with no problem

Got a Red Top about 5 years ago.Still doing great.Actually fired the Notch up this morning and drove into work.Battery had been sitting for a couple months. Before this time,it sat since the first snow hit last year.I stick a trickle charger on it if it sits longer than a couple months and bring it back to life.
It has been discharged about 10 times to about 6 volts and put on the trickle charger for about a week and brought back.I will never own another type of battery.

I've had a Yellow top in my car for i think 2 years now and it sits outside all winter and always fires right up. I bought the Yellow because it's supposed to be good at running totally dead and charging back up without any problems.

Seems Optima's have been hit or miss since they moved production to Mexico approx. 2 years ago.

Reason enough not to buy them.

Which one did you go with exactly? And where'd you get it?

You can order them through summit or performance distributers. The only option is where how the cables connect to the battery. I opted for a standard top mount.
