IDLE AIR BYPASS

How often does the Idle Air Bypass go bad. It looks like the solinoid is good. It measures 10.8 ohm. My car runs good but idles bad and stalls.

The solenoid may test well, but the passages inside could have carbon build-up, restricting flow. You can clean it, with carb cleaner and see if it clears up. If it does, I would go ahead and replace it. For some odd reason, cleaning them only helps, short term.

Ok I will. I hated to run out and buy one for 60 bucks. I've been fighting this problem for awhile to the point nobody wants to drive it.

Damn, they are $60. I thought they were about $25, give or take.

Try cleaning it and see how it lasts. If it keeps doing it, you'll know where you stand.
