I can't win for losing.....
Fuck you Ford and your damned stupid 2v! Weakass broken POS.
Fuck you again for having a shittyass designed camshaft position sensor on 7.3 diesels! It's only taken me 2 damn years to even see that your shitty ass recalled part is to blame on why the truck has sat for two damn years! Cocksuckers. But I guess someone is looking out for me as I got your shitty part in my grubby hands awaiting me to install it for FREE yesterday, even if the truck is sitting in my driveway 3 hrs away.
And I can't go without giving a big ole fuck you to you GM and your PITA front hubs that like to come apart at all the wrong times. At least my angel was keeping up with me as the wife's Avalanche decided to spit one of these beauties out 15 miles from home after a weekend away and not many miles from home. And fuck that damned 36mm FWD-style locknut holding the axle in. I'm just surprised that thing came off with a breaker bar and socket, aka no air tools.
As always, YMMV.:flipoff:

Well at least in the time the truck sat the cost on those cam pos sensors has plummeted. I just keep an extra in the glove box.

Yeah, that was a fucking get rich quick scam from the get-go. I probably will once I have the recall officially done.
Oh and the 2v was a motor pull on the two hottest days of the year last week because it's my friends car and those were the two days he had available to work on it. This after looking at it for the past 4 yrs on jackstands.

uuuuuhhhhhhh,..........wow. Sounds like your not having a good week (or weeks). I like the 2v's and think there junk also, but thats why you have to get a forged unit so it don't break. hehehe.
Good Luck man, sounds like you need another vacation.

Doesn't help when you have to pull out the 2v like this:

And only because some of the studs are still in place. He didn't use all the supplied bolts.

Actually, the driveway under the car port looks like crap because I hosed it down with water to dilute what antifreeze was spilled during removal. We didn't want Buddy or Tucker drinking it up. The trans was drained prior to removal.

Well, it looked like atf in the pics, just a joke man, glad you got it out and had the foresight to drain it all, wish you were closer, I could use all that oil for sure.

I hope the crank position sensor is easier to replace for you than my buddy's Jeep. I was up to my elbows in 15 year old Jeep muck for six hours trying to finagle one in and out. :(

ohhh man I hate dodge for putting them damn thing in the bellhousing/back of the block. They were definatly stupid.
You know all in all the 2v's and 302's are all easy to work on. atleast you don't have to completly take the engine apart to replace something.

Actually the CKP in those Jeeps are fairly easily. I have done a few and either they take a swivel with a 24" extension from up top or a gearwrench from underneath. It's the CKP's stuffed behind starters that suck the worst.

The psd is easy I did one on the 5 mile exit ramp @ the red light w/car on the trailer. 10mm socket & sensor in glove box just in case.
Ford should have sent you a recall notice on this about 2 or 3 years ago. I had replaced mine w/ one from international before the recall & they paid me back for the sensor & gave me the recall one as a spare. :bigthumb

He has the 5.2L Grand Cherokee. Haynes manual pretty much said disassemble passenger side of engine. There was no room for the extension past the EGR tube from the top and no room to maneuver from below. :(
We ended up finding a photo of the damn thing on a jeep forum so I could figure out what I was feeling for back there.
I took the first bolt off with an allen wrench, three extensions and a dead blow hammer  before getting the bright idea of combining four of those magnetic drill bit adapters together (narrow enough to fit between the head and EGR tube), hooked it to the rachet and got the last one off.

Oh, I have the recall letter. I got it about 6 mo after it died. But when it quit, I still had a rpm on the tach, so I ruled out the CPS. But after looking at the underhood fuse #22, fuel filter levels, fuel pressure@ the bowl, etc, this past weekend, I went to start it and I have no tach. I replaced it once before @ about 130 or 140k. So, I have gotten nearly 80k out of this one.
