SUCK MY FUCKING DICK AND LEARN TO KEEP YOUR SHIT ON THE FUCKING GREEN OR GO PLAY TENNIS. I'M GONNA TAKE A SHIT ON THE FUCKING T OFF TONIGHT AND I HOPE YOU FUCKING STEP IN IT.
SO, this fucking idiot can't keep his shit on the green and his ball hits my fucking car. Amazingly a cop is coming down the road right as it happens so i stop him and give him the ball. He goes and talks to the guy and comes back and tells me i'm basically shit out of luck unless i wanna file a police report, report it to my insurance, and sue his ass. He said that once the ball is struck that it's an act of God where it goes from there and he's not liable if it hits my car OR EVEN ME. So i told him i'm gonna stand in the ditch and hit balls * in any random direction * and he better hope i don't fucking hit him in the face with one of them.
I swear it took all i had in me not to beat this guy's fucking skull in. He stood there on the golf course with his dick sucking buddies and laughed because i couldn't do shit.

You could go do Dounuts on the Green in the evening, but then they would get you for tresspassing.
Best thing to do is go confront the guy in a non threating way and if nothing comes out of it, take his putter and bend it over your knee. I just hope you are bigger than him or you can kick him in da nuts and run like a girl! :bigthumb

Don't drive your car around a golf course and shit like this won't happen.

Actually i live across from the golf course. I don't have a choice but to have my car where it is. If these assholes can't keep it on the green then they should be liable for damage they do. It's like i told the cop, if my car is parked on a hill and it pops out of gear i'm liable for whatever it hits. If i'm on my own property firing a gun and the bullet ricochets and hits someone i'm liable. This is no different. The fact that the fucker stood there laughing is what makes it even worse.
The cop flat out told me "no crime has been committed" and that i likely wouldn't win in court anyways. How's that for a kick in the nuts? He said "this is why people have full coverage insurance".

He is correct. There was no criminal intent. This is a civil matter, you should easily win in civil court. Actually, check with the golf course...they are responsible for the actions of their clients.

So, this golf course was "built", or opened, since you've lived there?
You're starting to sound like the whiny bitches, that buy a house next to a pig farm, then want to sue the pig farmer, because of the smell.
I'm not trying to be insensitive, but damn, it's a car and they are exposed to all types of possible harm.

No i moved here, i have no idea which one came first but why does it matter? You're right cars come to harm, and when that harm is caused by a person they should be liable. I don't see why you seem to disagree. If you and i were throwing a baseball and i can't throw for shit and i accidentally throw the ball way off path and it goes through the windshield of your Mustang, are you not gonna expect me to pay to fix it???

No, I wouldn't, as I consider you a friend and that is that.
That is an apples to oranges argument anyway.
If I'm driving down the road, your next to me but slightly behind and a golf ball rolls into the road and I hit it. It bounces and hits your car. Am I a shitty driver (no pun intended) and you should sue me, for damages?
And it does matter, which was there first. If I were looking for a place to live, I would consider the possibilities of my surroundings. People that have lived in a location, for years, have every right to complain about what is built next to them. In this instant, you don't.

I don't at all mind the golf course. I only mind shitty golfers. I would also do the right thing and pay for your windshield regardless of whether you didn't want me to. This guy however is a fucking asshole who stood there LAUGHING AT ME because i couldn't do anything about it. That kind of POS deserves to get his balls sued off if it wasn't a waste of my time and money.
I should also point out that there are probably 10 mature trees between the T off and where my car is parked...that is how shitty this guy's hit was...it made it through that many trees and still hit my car.
It would be totally different if this guy came over and acted like a stand up guy and said he was sorry. Hell we are talking about the Festiva afterall, but it's the principle. The guy was acting like a total cock and showed no respect and a complete disregard for other peoples property. His shit didn't stink. His attitude turned it into a personal thing IMO. That's what really pissed me off the most.
What you don't see is how often this kind of thing happens and i don't say a damn thing. My Merkur got a nice big dint in the fender from a golf ball and i didn't do or say a word about it. They've landed next to me and my kids playing outside. I find them in our parking lot literally every damn day and still i say and do nothing. This guy was the final straw, along with the cop saying i'm totally shit out of luck, and especially because the guy was such an absolute dick about it all. Given the scenario, i'd say if you felt any different than i feel then you're either a saint or you just don't give a shit about your car.

I use to get really bent out of shape about this, but then realized I was the jackass that bought the house on a golf course and it comes with the territory. The thing that does chap my ass still is how arrogant these fucks are! They drive their goddamn carts through mine and my neighbors yards! It does make for some fun days/evenings drinking out on the deck though fucking with the golfers!

I never had a problem with golfers but I do have a nieghbor who is ANAL about his grass. He calls the cops on my kids all the time for basketballs rolling into his yard, bike being to close to his grass, all kinds of stupid shit. I eventually warned him that if he had a problem and didn't want to tell me about it first....well we would have problems and I would make sure that he didn't have a yard to bitch about.
The reason for the story is if the Course doesn't pay and help, you can just simply take out your expense on the golf course. Don't use your car, someone might see. But you can always go and get a large container of Weed/Grass killer aka Bleach and spray there green and then go buy a few hundred grub worms and throw them out there. Their grass will never be the same and you can write some funny shit. :) But anyways, do at your own risk! I am not responsible for actions taken by this post. lol....

You should take up golf fpr this 1 reason. You could have gone and taken your found balls and a driver and waited at the entrance for the guy to drive out then tee off at his ass.
I've played golf since high school. I still have good and bad days. I so however take responsibility for my actions.
I was playing at California on kellog and chilly dip one in to the rear qtr of a car on 18. I left a note on the windshield of the car.
He called me back and said that since I left a note and stood up for my actions he would not seek any money. He was glad to see a young guy do the right thing. I was 16 at the time.
I ended up playing a few rounds with him years later at a different course.
Then again I've had balls hit at me with no sorry so they either went back. To the owner hail Mary style or in the nearest water hazard.

Just curious. Why did you buy a house next to or just across the street from a golf course? Was the course there first or the house? I would think buying a house by/on a golf course would be like buyng a home built under walnut trees.
On a side note your cop was not completely correct. As a golfer you are responsible for the flite path of your ball up to a point. If you hit another person and injure them you are responsible for their medical bills and you can be liable for other damages if you failed to warn the person after seeing the ball is tracking their direction. You are required to yell warning in such case. You must be able to see the person however. The course however, is not responsible in most cases. As for property damages, much depends on which property was in place first, the house or the course. Case and Point - Homeowners vs. City of Blue Ash.
Sorry for your luck. I have had my car hit by golf balls as well. Lost the windshield once. Nothing I could do about it. Nobody took responsiblity.

I see both sides of this but the fact that he was being a dick and laughing about it would not be let go . Accidents can happen and that could be a act of God but being a smart ass in front of your buddies for tearing up someones property is just wrong unless its revenge .I would talk to the course owner first if your calm and cool he will most likely take care of it .If this does not work get a potato gun and sit in your yard and send a few bombs back at them . If it rains potato's is that a act of god as well ? Take a sprinkler and hook it up to a long hose and throw it as far over the fence as you can fill the hose with gas turn the sprinkler on let it run for a good 45 minutes that way it does not kill the grass as you drag it back over the fence. Play some ole bluegrass music as loud as you can let them try and golf through that . Super soakers with Round up works good as well that way it can be random grass death .

The course should have record of address on the man, especially if he paid by CC and as well rented a cart. Address and phone number are required if you rent a golf cart @ 99% of GC's. Why take it out on the course? After all the man was the dick not the course. On the other hand, the course however can fall into this category if they do not cooperate with 85 SS 302, and help him get the address/phone of the jerk that committed the offense and acted out over it. If the course tries to protect the guy, Then IMHO all bets are off. Get them both if possible. Just make sure you attack an area not near your house or they can pin any damage on you based on association in small claims. After all small claims does not require preponderance of the evidence, to establish fault.

Golf courses have insurance for stuff like this.
Dad's car got hit going down a country road, put a huge dent in his hood.
He pulled in, showed the damage to the clubhouse and essentially got a check.

There's one apartment building that has car ports to protect cars but IMO they really needed them where i live because that's where 99% of the slices land. Then again some of those people who live over there have told me the ports are a blessing and a curse...you may not get hit by golf balls but in return you get birds nesting under them, shitting on your car all the time.
I'm over it guys..i really wasn't all that pissed, i just type out rants like this to make a few people laugh and spark up some debate and conversation. Like i told another guy though, i won't be so cordial the next time a ball lands next to me while i'm wrenching on my car.

Maybe you should make that guy from PA an offer he can't refuse on the purchase of your home!LOL!!!! Good point though on why you live there. It's amazing the number of people who will want to buy a house on a golf course even these days. It's some kind of distinction I guess. When I lived out west, I learned that "view" was EVERYTHING in the purchase/resale of a home. The higher up on a hill or mountain it set and the further out over the edge it hung the more people were willing to pay for it simply becuase of the view. The home could be a box of matchsticks and if the view was nice it was worth $100,000+ more (in 1993). Good luck. I'd still make the course dig up the address on the guy for you however. Being a former golfer (dicks like him are why I quit playing) it burns me when I see what was once a respectable sport turned into a sport for a bunch of overindulgent buttholes. Yes, yes, it was always somewhat of a pompus sport being it was so associated with the elites, and the country club want-a-be types, but even so a person would be fair and gentleman like when playing the game even when it came to situations like yours. The least the turd could have done would have been to apologize and ask if there was any damage. I would have done that as would have many others in the day had I hit a bad shot. Times sure change.
