so i bought a shorter belt and installed it last night to bypass the smog pump. anyone done this on here and had any issues. i plan at some point to remove the pump and hoses and block the vacuum lines...

has anyone else on here done that with 94/95 stang? if so, did you notice anyting after the shorter belt. i noticed the belt has chirped a couple times so i am wondering if i need a bigger or smaller belt... any smaller though and i don't know if i could get it on there... this one was pretty tight. i think it was 90.5".

thanks,
ben

I didn't need to move anything. Just have to re route the belt. Google ”95 mustang belt diagram” and there is a nice chart with six combinations along with approx belt sizes. I got the 90.5 and it was tight putting it on.

On my 94 with no air pump and MAC pulleys I ran a Gates K060895 (89.5"). No issues in the couple thousand miles I put on it before selling the car.

Be old school like me and run a string around the pulleys...measure the string...buy all belts within .5 inch above/below the actual measure...get the smallest one you can fit on....return other belts :)
