Yellowstang
03-19-2011, 11:58 AM

ya what he said :screwy:

draggin50
03-21-2011, 12:31 AM
Because its a ladder bar setup and Id rather stay stock suspension. I already had this paid for or I would've just done the 8.8 in the beginning.

Buckeye
03-21-2011, 07:57 AM
but you now have a nice braced 9 that will do well and with a 9 you can swap gears easly swap between road gears and race plus a spool or not .

draggin50
03-21-2011, 09:52 AM
Yeah thats true. I just hate to put a shitload of more money in the 9 inch when I could build the 8.8 and get away from the ladder bar setup. If I decide to run true street I wont be aloud with them.

Stangman
03-21-2011, 10:19 AM
Screw running in a class, build it for yourself man! Lol a 9" will be tough!

J/k either way will still kick ass... don't someone make mustang suspension brackets for 9" axles?

draggin50

Yeah there are a few companies that make the brackets and bolt in housings. That may be something I could look into.

Brian,
Any updates?

Waiting to get the rearend back and then its back to work!!! Im ordering the torque box shit now to stiffen them up. I should have the rear end next week or so. Just sucks Ill have to buy 2 new back wheels...

The rear end is going to be welded, narrowed about 3 inches per side, swarr bar welded on, 35 spline Moser axles, gun drilled and star flange, Moser spool, and Strange 1350 pinion yoke with a 3.55 gear. That should hold whatever I throw at it!!

outlaw85
05-06-2011, 05:57 PM
Very Nice! Sounds like your doing it up right.

draggin50
05-06-2011, 07:20 PM
I should have it in the next week or so. Then its back to finding out if my old ProStars will work with the new rearend. If not Ill be buying another set of wheels.

draggin50
06-12-2011, 01:08 AM
The rear end is the biggest thing. Once its back I need rear brakes, cage and start on the interior. Also manual rack and shaft, and manual brake parts. Not a whole lot really but Im sure Ill need alot of small stuff that adds up real quick too! Hopefully I can start raking in some overtime and get it finished up soon. I really miss having one to drive.

draggin50
08-29-2011, 11:12 AM
Got my rear end back this weekend. It's narrowed about 2.5 inches, Moser 35 spine gun drilled axles and spool, Strange 9 inch ends, 3.55 gear, 1350 pinion yoke, Swarr bar, Trick Flow girdle, and 5/8's studs. Also have UPR spherical bearings, and torque box plates on the way. Hopefully ill get some good pics up soon.

draggin50

When I had the 9 inch they fit. So when that deal fell through I sold them to 03z06vette since he has the 9 inch now. I dont think they was going to fit. They was a 15x10 with 3.5 inch bs.

Another picture of it sitting beside some real steel!!! Its started coming back apart for other stuff to go on but I kinda let it take the back burner to get the 32 up and running since I have all the parts to finish it except for a 5.0 and a C4 tranny.

Thanks! The old stuff was my buddy's and right before he died he asked if I would finish them up. That one is a 32 Ford Panel Delivery and I also have a 40 Ford Panel delivery, a 31 Deluxe Sedan Delivery, 30/31 2 door sedan and mine which is a 30/31 Model A pick up. They are pretty easy to do and parts are still available. Mine is rusty but thats the way I wanted it.

draggin50
12-13-2011, 12:06 AM
Its hard to tell what I do with it. Im thinking of setting it aside and doing it after the GT is done. I change my mind like underwear so I never know what Im doing. I cant build them both at the same time... I wish I could! It may be sold off to fund this one. That will be my last resort though.
