So I have a members car here that was assembled by a so called local transmission specialist. This is the biggest bunch of nonsense I have ever seen, 1/2 bolts cross threaded into the driveshaft flange, 2 bolts tightened, 1 bolt loose, 1 bolt missing. Car has not run under it's own power since it left there. Wrong bellhousing so the starter doesn't even contact and there is absolutely no converter clearance. But to top it all of there is no block plate.
Freeze plug stuck in the speedo hole, it's a good thing it didn't run the bellhousing bolts were hanging on by a thread, monstrous converter nuts will hit the block plate (if I can ever find one). Grrrrr. Anyone that considers themself a "transmission man" should know better than all this. From where I stand the owner of this car got screwed hard, there are many details of that but it isn't worth the trouble. Slowly everyone is learning about this rip off artist.
Anyone know where to get a block plate for a 157tooth c4?

PA sells them. Not sure how much though.

I would think Axiom or WIT would have them. If you want to do the universal one and skip the lower plate, PA sells them through Scummit.

Alan let me look and see if I have one out in the garage. If I do you can have it I would love to see him enjoy this car for once. It sucks that transmission has been a problem since day 1 for him

Without knowing who is putting out this kind of shoddy crap, this thread is pointless (other than the quest for a block plate).
SPILL IT.

I'm not here to make trouble. The shop that butchered the largest portion of it is known to produce terrible quality c4 transmissions. I think half of the local members here who are on this forum have been ripped of by him now. My point is I cannot believe some people do the things they do. For those of you who do not know...RUBBER HOSE IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF COOLER LINE AND SHOULD NOT EXCEED 8 INCHES OF LENGTH. /rant

Amen on all counts. I did a bench job 727 for a local guy when I was working at the dealership. I charged him a fair amount of cash for it. They went and put it in and it worked great for about two weeks then it just up and quit. Told them to take it out and bring it back to me. I had to redo a clutch pack that failed and get rid of the shitty backwoods made manual VB that was in it. Then to top it off, I went out to the guys house and in a 130^F single stall attached garage, installed the damn thing on my own dime and time. So far, it's still moving that same car around.
Boy, was I dumb back then to make a buck.

Hey I know EXACTLY how you feel.I remember buying a C4 that was supposedly built right only to spend a sheet load of money repairing it.Only to be flamed by others here(actually told to leave)(yes its still a kinda a sore spot) about it and that I was the one who wasn't honest.
But I do have NEW in the BOX a PA unversial blockplate I bought that you are welcome to.Let me know. FREE. I know the feeling and want the other banger to get his ride fixed right and on the road.

I appreciate the offer, I did a google search and found one for $24, it isn't the universal it only fits the 157tooth setup, but that is ok that is all it has to fit. :)

This is where I got mine. I like the fact that they have free shipping, Cj's has always done good for me. http://www.cjponyparts.com/product.asp?pn=TSP1

I'm sure I can make use for it , missing block plates is a common thing around here. I had an OEM collection but it is about gone.
