now that ive got the spark issue straightened out the car is pulling oil through the pcv and smoking a bit once it warms up everytime i take off it puffs a little blue smoke, and at idle the pcv hose is sucked shut. any ideas here? I religously change the oil with full syn. 5w20 and a K&N oil filter every 4-5k
I just had the intake swapped, could there be a vaccum leak?

If you have vacume at the oil cap, more than likely you have an intake vacume leak.

checked that out while the engine was cold and no vac at the oil filler neck, ill check it again when i drive it and get it up to operating temp, i suspect the intake bolts werent torqed properly and may be loose. I didnt do the job so i cant be sure.

did you say that the car is N/A or boosted? Are you getting oil into the upper intake?

If it's a boosted car I would say you need to ditch that PCV system or install a oil catch.

N/A car i found the issue the pcv hose was sucked shut and oil was getting pulled into the intake, now the runners have oil in them, i fixed the pcv issue so i just have to clean out the runners. Seafoam?

It is still advisable to purchase an oil trap and place in the line. I run 7psi and have a light amount of oil being pulled back into the throttle body from the PVC line vent as well. There are several opions available. I have just been lazy about getting around to it.

On a side note Saleen recommended going to 5w30 after installing their S/C package. One of their reasons was to minimizr oil migration via the PVC line, aside from the obvious. I clean my TB every 2-3 months or so and find very little oil buildup. I have yet to find oil making it into the plenum area of the S/C as others have described on higher boosted applications.

Hope this helps.

i plan on doing that soon, i found one at jegs for around 50$ plus what ever i spend on the hoses. Im curious to see how much oil accumulates in the catch can. As far as the oil goes i am switching to 5w30 next oil change
