So a buddy of mine just bought a 1986Gt and it has black interior and the center console is grey.. Its in good shape but he likes the way it looks with out it.. Is there anything anyone one has done tastefully to make it look decent around the emergency brake where the carpet meets up? Or is there anyone who has a black 79-86 center console

Find a car with the console delete option. It has just a small cover on the Ebrake handle. And some cars came with the shifter boot bolted straight to the floor with a peice of trim covering it. Others had a larger peice of plastic that bolted to the floor, the boot inside it, and a panel that clipped into the top of it.
Mustang II's without consoles would have the proper E brake piece (if you cant find a fox) you need if you see any in a scrap yard... and if you do let me know lol

I used a shifter boot / bag , I took out the rubber piece inside that goes around the shifter handle and it slid right over the e-brake handle. To secure it down ,I screwed the metal ring that is attached to the shifter boot to the floor.
