turbo 5.0

im interested in turboing my 5.0 was wondering if i should just boast it or drop money for heads intake then turbo or just boost it with a cam. it has 98500 miles on it. not sure but if i need to rebuild it id like to do a 331 stroker with this build. right now i have bout 4g to toss around then if my coupe ever sells ill have a little more and info let me know thanks

assuming you are talking about the 93. You can get a good reputable turbo kit for reasonable money. I had a B&G kit on my stock 5.0. It ran really well. Now take into consideration i was running a Megasquirt II stand alone with my own custom tune. Some things to keep in mind. You are gonna need a bigger fuel pump, injectors, and larger maf with a tune to go with the turbo kit. I ran my car on about 9lbs of boost and it performed great and was reliable to boot. I have since sold my car but there are rumors that the guy who bought it turned up the boost and the car put down 500hp \ 550tq although i am skeptical and have never seen dyno sheets. One other thing to keep in mind is installation. I have no idea what your level of wrenching is but, i will tell you that an installation of that caliber is not for the faint of heart. I am not trying to scare you off but look at some writeup's on turbomustangs.com. They have a very informative forum over there. Good luck.

i say boost, u gonna have a stock cam?...or u gonna get a mild cam?...prolly need to figure out what heads u want to go with b4 u go buy a cam also..
