Looking to convert some old 45's to cd's.

Lots of ways...easiest is to probably buy one of those turntables that has the built in DVD burner. Target used to sell them, they looked like a little turntable jukebox. Otherwise you could get some really good quality sound capturing software and record it to your PC and then burn it that way.

Ive picked up a component audio to headphone/microphone cable from radio shack and did it that way. just use windows sound recorder and there ya go. Still has that vinyl sound too! :bigthumb

how did it handle the necessary amplification from the turntable???? Or did you just adjust the file after you recorded it??

Most of the new receivers do not have a phono input for turntables and an extra amplifier need to be purchased so that the sound is audible through the receiver without maxing out your volume controls.
