Does anybody know of any local machine shops that have vast knowledge and experience with the 2.3? I know they run them in circle track so somebody has to build them.
Thanks in advance
Eric

I bet George Montgomery would be good with them

Where is he located. I am wanting to go away from the norm and build a higher compression 2.3 turbo with lower boost and large turbo on e-85

I think he's in dayton. I haven't been there since I was 13 or 14 but he builds 4cyl indy car engines and he is a ford guy so I'd say he'd be the right guy. I think they call hiM Ohio George. Someone on here will probably chime in and know more on how to contact him

Steve Barker did all the machine work on mine and I haven't had any issues at all.

There is a guy in Springfield who has a machine shop across from Pepsi cannot remember the name of the shop his name is Eddie he is a older fellow who has allot of 2.3 knowledge . He is one of the few shops who can Torque plate hone a 2.3 block . I can call a friend and find out if no one knows who I am talking about .

Without getting into a pissing contest about this shop and that... the OP asked about a shop with "extensive knowledge of the 2.3". To answer that question, yes, George & Gregg have won races and set records in the NHRA racing a 2.3L Pinto. That should be enough of a recommendation without getting into the he said-she said.

However, I'll mention that they also built me a stock block 306" that went low tens and they built my current 427" (which I haven't tested yet).

Racer Walsh has been out of the game for too long. The new guy to look at is Shannon at stinger-performance and Boport. Oh yeah, this thread is 1.5 years old...
