My buddy decided to pick up a used turbo off of an old Mack truck and we wasnt sure what we could do with it... So here is what we came up with... A single turbo jet engine!!!! With parts from a furnace, Holley blue pump, old oil cooler, and a little help from a leaf blower and an air compressor to help spool it up. I took more video but they are longer and it takes forever to upload to youtube... So here is one. No fire extinguisher was near and the cops didnt even show up! This is how I spent my Sunday afternoon!!!

Its what you get when you spend long nights in a garage with some powerful alcohol, welder, and plenty of scrap laying around! It blew the plug straight out of the top and concaved the top plate on the final run! Dangerous is kind of an understatment! Ill try to post up the other videos and pictures!

They made those on Junkyard Wars a while back.
Pretty crazy making a jet engine from "junk".

We just figured, What the hell, $20 lets see what we can do with it! It just seemed way to big for us to do anything with. That thing is a monster! I dont know what kind of boost your making with yours, but this one will stretch some metal!!!

The housing is much bigger than the turbine is which make them appear bigger larger than they really are. They are only like high 70's low 80mm

Well its getting rebuilt now and maybe we can go a different route with it. Sounds like it may work for something else then!!

There was a lot of thinking involved in making this junk work! How to make it run constantly without dying out, how to keep the oil halfway cool, And what to hide behing when it blows up!!! Thats why I was behind the wall and truck taking video! Its all in good fun and we made it work. Its even cooler in person to see this thing SCREAM!!!
