Is there anyway to tell if you have a different rear-end gear then factory in the rear-end? I bought an 87 gt from a guy and he said he didn't know if it had a different gear or not either. but after driving it, it grabs better than any stock rear-end gear i have ever drove.

Well you can pop the rear cover off of it and look at the end of the pinion if its a motorsport gear then it will have the ratio stamped on the end of the pinion.

You can also count the number of driveshaft rotations compared to one full turn of the wheel.
