How can you tell the difference from a 7.5 and a 8.8? Its in a 86gt and it has 5 lug axles. Any ideas?

more then likely it is a 7.5 the axles from a 7.5 to a 8.8 are the same length

no diff covers are different just do a search and you can see the difference

7.5 is more round shape than a 8.8

7.5 IIRC, will not have 3" tubes coming off the housing. but that may be the early 7.5's from the 70's.
