Well, as of right now I need the radio trim plate, a head liner for a sunroof car, both sun visors, a rearview mirror, and a couple door panels wouldnt hurt, but the speaker grills are missing from mine. I'm looking for a complete lock set too, doors, trunk, and glove box with a key for em. Then it's under the hood and suspension for me. I think I'm gonna go with the UPR Drag kit again, I really liked it in my 91 GT, and the price is good too. unless you guys have a beter route...

Well if you plan to run any sort of cam you will need better valve springs. I took the explorer springs off... but still have them. And yes, pretty much ready to bolt on. I would advise changing the valve seals. Use the Felpro Viton seals. And, you just need 90 degree spark plug boots. Other than that they should fit no issues, especially if you have BBK or Mac headers.

11-11-2010, 03:18 PM
I think GT40P would require different headers:

From MAC (http://www.macperformance.com/store/category.cfm?SID=3&Category_ID=390) website (shorty headers):
79-93 GT40P Heads - 1 5/8''
Part Number: 50158
Price: 319.50

11-11-2010, 03:23 PM
You can squeeze by with regular macs or bbks. It's been done. you just need the fiberglass/cloth heat sleeves. I mean, ive seen people run without them but you can run the risk of burning the plug boot.

I test fitted a set of old school BBK shorties i have in my garage on some P heads and I can get the plugs in and out with no issues

You are correct. Depends on if OP cars whether or not it's the correct grey or not.

INSANEBA
11-11-2010, 03:47 PM
I'm prettty sure it's the smoke, it's got the big headrest seats in it which are correct to the 89 model. Thanks Josh, you know me, I usually get stuck doin all the hard shit by myself lol. But swing on down and check it out, and I'll take help when i can get it lol. Same goes to you too buddy!

You know I actually kinda like that hood... a little... i'd have to cut the center out and put a flat section of fiberglass in there, lol

INSANEBA
11-11-2010, 04:22 PM
That would make it the Cobra R hood, which was what I had on my red gt. I really love the Cobra R hood on the gt, just fits better with the body kit. That's what i'll buy when it goes for paint. So if anyone likes this one, lemme know and I'll hit you up for a cheap sale when it goes lol...

comp cams pt# 942-16- these are the springs i used on mine $65.99 @ Jegs. While your there go ahead and get the correct p headers from ford racing there 249 and make life much easier. they respond real well to a bcam, steeda #18 cam, or a tfs stage 1. Ill get you dyno numbers from mine when mike gets his dynojet back up and running.

INSANEBA
11-12-2010, 11:10 AM
Do that, I'm intrigued now lol. As for a bump stick I'm gonna run another TFS STG 1 in this one. I LOOOVED how it sounded and ran in my 91, so I'm sold on this one... I deffinitely want a set of heads for when I swap the cam and intakes though... I pulled the kick panel lastnight, and was happy to see the A9L ecu in it too!

Stangman
11-12-2010, 01:21 PM
89's are probably my favorite year. They were Mass air, but didnt have the non tilt airbag column, and they had the A9L.. plus my first fox was a black '89 GT back in '04.

LMAO... "built for dragging" that is my favorite part.

This dude probably bought a 4cyl trans and stuck a king cobra clutch on it.

Get with me on the FRPP headers and the valve spring kit. The comp springs are nice, but the TFS kit comes with EVERYTHING, including valve seals(the good ones), retianers, locks, springs, seals, install tool for seals and installed height checker and shims. They work really well and are very cheap. That's what Jesse got from me a long time ago for his heads.

And read in my dayton performance section what Josh got out of his P head combo, not too shabby at all for P heads, cobra intake and a B cam.

Brandon, My buddy has the 92 Gould car he is still parting out if ya need a good tranny. He wants $450 for the tranny, UPR shifter, bell, clutch kit, and he may throw in the aluminum driveshaft.

Did you buy this car from around the mason area? Ive pretty sure ive seen that car running around mason all summer.

INSANEBA
11-15-2010, 03:07 PM
Thanks Silver, I did see it. I actually have about 5 cl adds saved in my email, gotta move a couple guitars or wait a couple weeks to have the cash for one at this time, but I'm working on it. Thanks Mike, I'll do that, I do want a set of heads to throw on it when I do the intake/cam swap, and they are a grat deal for the price. 93 Notch, I met the guy on 71 just outside of Willmington, the title was from Williamstown or something like that. The title envelope had Batavia on it, so it might be the car. I cant beleive he drove it in the condition it was in when I got it. I've only driven it about 20 miles since I got it home. To and from my buddys garage is all lol. Once it gets a tranny, and some tires it'll get the wheels driven off of it, until it starts snowing that is lol...

Ok I honestly didn't know if it was built stronger or something and thought for 500 it would have been a good deal seeing they usually sell for around 400.

Yeah sometimes people try to "spruce up" their ads to make them sound better than they are.

Brandon, Now if it's a trans that I know for a fact is good, I wouldnt hessitate to pay 500. But I'd have to know some history on it. I'd offer that guy 300 and see if he bites.

I know where my manual transmissions and rear ends go when they need rebuilt. Can't wait to put the 4.10 I got from you in the rear end of my Lincoln!

I know what you mean Jesse, I'm trying to free the money up right now. But theres some great deals on other stuff I need too lol, its a rock and a hard place! Get them gears in that thing, I loved the ones I put in my GT from Draggin. It made the car. I think I'm goin 3:73 this time, mainly because I wanna put a super charger on this car. I did get my brake lights working tonight, took a $6 brake light switch. I also got tag lights wired up, and am onto the heater next. I think I saved this car from a near future trip to the wrecking yard, man it needed alot of lil shit...

Well I picked up a great deal on a set of BBK shorties and a MAC 2 1/2" x pipe. I picked up the x pipe today, and the headers will be here this week some time, thanks Blown97cobra for the pipes! Gonna get series 40's and dumps ran. I'll be doint the swap when the new tranny goes in, which will hopefully be in the next few weeks. I also picked up a 351w shortblock this afternoon, so things could get a lil saucy...

Well things have been slow, with the holidays coming up and all. I did make a trade on my taillights this week though. I traded a fella my cheese graders for a set of Ford Racing (APC) clear taillights with the chrome backing. I'm at work as we speak prepping them for VVHT Nightshade. Gonna black em out and clear coat em so they look right on a Yellow car lol.... I'll post before and after pics of em later on...
