Ya know, i spend 65-70 hours a week in this place and sometimes I just get so irritated when my time gets wasted.

Do me a favor. If you are the type of person that wants to shop all over the place and spend days and days shopping to get a better price, then get a better price somewhere else and , PLEASE VISIT ME LAST.

The last person you visit will always be the best price. Why, because you have a price for them to beat.

For crying out loud. I am going to give you a fair deal and an easy way low pressure way to go. If you feel the need to "haggle" then go JACK someone else for hours and waste their time. Then come visit the person you should be buying from and give me the price they gave you and I will beat it.

Then I only have to spend 5 minutes working a deal and get the sale, instead of 3 hours and not getting the sale!

Or, at least give me the opportunity to beat the price that beat my price.

UGGGGGGGHHHHH

I work in the auto industry and the one thing I HATE and I don't use that word lightly is buying cars. All the shinanigans and F&I and haggling and BS that goes on and on and on and on... It just makes for a miserable day.

Maybe when I am in the market for a vehicle again (sometime in the next few months), I'll hit you up and hopefully it will be painless for both of us...

You sell used or new or both???

Later,
Ben

Both, and i can sell new from our chevy store, and used from all 3 lots. And Stangbangerz gets a referral, so I appreciate the support and the site does as well!

I bought a used car from him and had a couple of problems. I kept expecting to hit walls and never did. They are a great bunch of people over there. Not one time did they try to get around anything. I would highly recommend them.. I called terry up and said I need a car quickly and I got one.

You have to look at it from the buyer's standpoint too. If they're getting a better deal from someone else than you quoted them, you should have gone lower in the first place.

Hypothetically of course.

It wouldn't matter, so you go $50 less or $100 less, it's the same scenario

especially if you walk in and your a plan buyer of some sort, the plan buy is right on the invoice, pre negotiated by ford

Yep. I love dealing with a damn jack while everyone else is selling then your jack leaves with nothing. Fucking people think car sales people make a shit ton of money off every sale. Sometimes you get a good one and sometimes its a mini or a split. But it all takes time and if your a jack your costing someone money.

I like dealing with someone I know even if it means paying a little more. As long as it's not a lot. I didn't personally know Terry but I did know he sold a few cars to people off the board so he would be fair. The mentality of saving every penny is a walmart attitude and thats why china makes everything now. I have never heard a walmart commercial say anything about good quality. If a radio was 20 bucks at walmart I would be happy to pay 30 if I knew it was US made.

the other thing is being able to get ahold of me at any time if you do have an issue with something. vs someone that once they sell you could give 2 squats about ever speaking with you again

Well Beef guess we just might have to see what you are made of. My wife just got Side slammed by some ding bat that ran a red light this morning and the way it is looking, the 2003 Regal (53000 miles) will likely be totalled. Kim's bell got rung pretty good and I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow due to dizziness this evening but hopefully all will be okay. Thank God I said yes to uninsured motorist.

The ding bat was driving her "boyfriend's" car. Claimed she had insurance with nationwide and that if his insurance didn't cover it her's would but, had no current proof of insurance in the car or on her person. Her License was suspended on the spot by Hamilton County Deputy and she was sited for running a stop light.

i bought a brand new truck from beechmont ford 04 heritage f 150 v-6 5 speed and they lost my paperwork,2 months later they tell me to bring my truck back, and since they lost my paperwork and didnt pay my car off my finance company on my trade in was calling for for payments and i told them i bought a new truck which they didnt believe me why would i lie about that?and after i had the windows tinted on the new truck and bought a ford bedmat etc, only to have gotten a phone call from them to say we cant get you financed cause you have late payments,it wasnt to smart on their part because i bought that truck right before the 9995 truck sale started because i paid just under 20 grand for this and when i returned the truck it had 2,300 miles or so and they were selling these new for half price with 0 miles on them, that was the last time i dealt with them.i know it wasnt your deal or you fault but it was a bad experience enough that i havnt bought any new vehicles since.i loved the truck but didnt like how they treated me.it sucks too cause my woman is in need of a car and we have financing set up with my bank just need to find her a new or newer 4 cylinder car like a fusion or focus etc and there isnt anything out here where we live.i have to get her something TODAY

ya know whats amazing is it's a law to carry insurance in ohio, but all the bmv does is make you sign a paper saying yes i have it,

but in the end, they really don't enforce it that hard.

just think if you didn't have uninsured, and they didn't have coverage, and it was real bad, hospitals bankrupt people.

let us know how the doc appointment goes too!

That sucks. Hope she's feeling better today.

Just got back from the Doc. She is some whip lash, and a light bruise on her little bean where she smacked the driver's side window at impact. The doc has prescribed a muscle relaxer to help ease the pain. Thanks for your concern. I will pass it on.

Thanks be to The Almighty it turns out the woman apparently has some form of insurance, or so it appears. Just got a call from her insurance claims agent who left a message while we were at the Doc.

It always amazes me Beef when they just ask if I have insurance at plate time. I always subconsciously pull out the card to which they say, "Oh, I don't need to see it, I am only required to ask you and then have you sign if you claim you have insurance." What's the point? People who don't and won't are going to lie about it anyway.

Thanks everyone. Have a great weekend. Chad, Kim, and Shelby

A ride in the amberlamps 3 miles and an hour in the hospital where they only took my blood pressure once is $1600, for 1.5 hours total. Plus lost the $500 deduct on the car, so I'm out $2100 so far.

Might try small claims court BUT....Hector Jose Lopez...yeah doubt it's even worth the effort.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like we may have just got lucky in comparison to your ordeal. Appears the car ding-bat was driving is insurance under an SR-22 firm called Viking (sub of Sentry), and she is under nationwide who finally called @ 8:30pm last evening to start their side of things. Of course there will likely be tug of war over who will pay what, but things could be worse like your case. Hope you get some resolve.

What is a JACK?
Is that short for Jackass? Jackoff? Hilljack? Or all the above?

Aweasel
11-13-2010, 01:26 PM
In my brief car sales stint I understood it as a short term for jacking you around. Got a lot of that when I worked at Wyler in summer 09...cash for clunkers was coming and chrysler had filed bankruptcy so the jacks were in full force. They'd walk in looking for challenger SRT8s for 35k out the door or jeep wranglers for 18 OTD. Just like....wtf are you smoking pal?

jacks = window shoppers.

Same kind of person will go into a car shop and ask about prices on builds and dreams then leave without buying anything....or even coming back.

MOST waste your time, but every once in a great while one person will have a load of cash in their pocket.

which is why if you ever see me at a dealership, I'm there to buy.

When dad bought his truck it was pouring down rain. The first salesman blew dad off and went to lunch. Dad found what he wanted on the lot and went inside. Made a fair offer, it was approved without haggling. All paperwork was finished and dad left before the first salesman got back from lunch.

I received a pm from someone and it got me thinking and I wanted to make sure I clarified some things.

I will go out of my way to help anyone and spend all the time needed and have no problem doing so.

The scenario I was referring to was mainly directed at new cars.

First, as far as used. Used cars are all different, rarely do you see the exact same 2 sitting on 2 lots with the exact same options at the same price.

When we trade for a used car, chances are we traded for them different and that will affect how low we can go. Sometimes trades are 'stolen' meaning that we got a pretty good deal on it (this is rare these days). Most of the time we are average, to high, especially on new car deals, because we want to put deals together. So, sometimes, mine will be the lowest, there will be some times that it is not.

I will do my best to find you a used car at the best price I can, but i fully understand if i don't have what you want, and you decide to go elsewhere. Keep in mind, that we trade and sell often, and what we have isn't always on the website, so call if you've got a need in a car.

If I don't have what you want, I will even take the time to run car fax's for you on a car at another lot, and do my best to tell you what a fair value for you to pay for it is and am happy to do so. Sometime in the future, I may have what you want, plus being a banger, i don't want you getting raped by someone else.

As far as why I got fired up. It's a scenario of a 100% identical car. I've taken the time to show you the options, show you how everything works, compare the models for you, help you figure out whats right for you on your budget. Make sure it's what you want. Get all your pricing. 3 days in, you go to dealer b, where you don't even know anyone, take all my work, and say, what can you beat this by? At that point, your sitting there with my same car for $100 less or whatever and you want the car, you know its the right car because we've spent 2-3 days figuring out what the right car is and you buy it there.

You would think that I have at least worked hard enough to get the courtesy of a phone call, to say, dealer b whom i just spent 5 mintues with, is beating your price by $50, $100, $200, whatever it is. Can you do the same since you have 6 hours invested, most of it after hours during non scheduled time, taking time away from your family, etc..

Like I had said, if this is how you do business, please allow me to be the one that only works for 5 minutes. I don't mind putting the time in, but if I can be the 5 minute guy, i've got no problem with it! ;) I mean after all, you know me, or are at least some what acquainted with me, so why not!

I hope most can relate to this in their line of work, whatever they do. Or have a family member that you can relate to what I'm saying.

Again, and I cannot stress enough. I will stay late, come in on my off day, deliver a car to your house, whatever it takes and whatever you need to assist you. The only number on my card is my cell, and i can be reached 3am to 10 pm seven days a week.

I can also promise, you will get no one who cares more for their customers after the sale than me. I take my job very personal and people are very important to me, and thats probably why i get fired up. It was the same way when I was in the Nutrition business, my GNC store was number one in the city, because I knew what I was talking about, my customers trusted me, and they always knew they were going to get everything on the up and up with me.

If I offended anyone or scared anyone away, that was not my intention, and I apoligize.

I can give Terry a good review. Back in 2005 I had just retired and as a retirement gift to myself I wanted to order a new 2006 GT 'vert from the factory. I had never been able to do that before.

I talked to 3 other Ford dealers in town and the best one could do was sticker, the other two were talking up to 5K over sticker and not one would even entertain the X plan - I had a PIN. I had bought new cars from two of these dealers.

I stopped out and talked to Terry. He seemed like a really stand up guy. We sat down and picked out everything. He said his dealership would honor the X plan. The deal was done. I came out with a good price and a smile on my face.

At my age I don't know if I'll be buying any more new cars, but next Spring we'll be looking for a late model Miata for my wife and Terry will be my first stop. :bigthumb

Price isn't everthing. I bought my truck from Ralph at Robke(now closed) and sent dozens of people to him after that that he sold cars to . He treated me right all the way around. I went to airport ford first. They completely ignored me because I appeared too young. It is true in 96 I looked 14 so the salesman ignored me. He took my stupid uncle out back to look at "$200 trucks" despite me telling him I had the paperwork, A plan and deposit in my pocket to buy a ranger. I ended up counting my cash on a showroom car just to make a point, then I took my business to Robke. I liked the truck Airport had better, but in the end 250,000 miles later I think I made a good investment.
I think it is more important that people leave to buy a car informed. You should know what you want and what a fair price is for it. Haggling price is annoying. Say what you really want to pay and stick to it. If that place can't do that then go elsewhere. If nobody can do it you were unrealistic. Knowing the true values of what you want shoudl avoid that situation.

I can't agree with you more. And, service after the sale. 95% of salespeople you will never reach after the sale. They are busy, or this, or that. Because if your calling, your usually calling with a problem / issue.

The only # on my business card is my cell. I tell every customer, 9 to 9, seven days a week. They can reach me. I keep most of my customers keyless entry codes in my computer in case they get locked out as well, and forget their code.

i had this shit happen to me a LOT up in Indy...but one time it worked in my favor, there was a couple in their mid 40's lookin for a car for their kid, so naturally i show them the safest we have and most new driver friendly, turns out we did ALL the paperwork to get them approved, and they never came back. turns out the dealership they bought at had an equal car at a better price, as usual they didnt call or stop in to let me know, but they must have name dropped or something because 2 weeks later, i had a referral check sitting on my desk. (which was more than i would have made on the Accent anyway lol) they seemed surprised when i called and asked how they liked their new car, when they apologized to me for not coming back i told them i was 100% ok with it because i still got paid thanks to them dropping my name with the other guys. needless to say, the rest of the time i was there me and the other dealer bounced deals back and forth and it worked out well in the end.

Terry is the only salesman I will deal with from here on out. I bought a 2006 F150 back in May. I pm'd him the other day to see if he could give me some more info on my truck. I got a pm back a few minutes later with the info I wanted. Also I received a Christmas card and even a Birthday card from him. Terry definitely cares about his customers and tries to do what he can to help them. I would recommend if you're wanting to buy a vehicle go see Beef. He will treat you right.
