So my battery in my truck is bad. I can charge it and it will hold a charge until you drive it and park it for a hour or so. Or if you open up the door and just leave it open for 5 minutes with the dome light on it will have to be jump started. I took the battery to Advance today and they said it was dead> So they charged it today and their machine said it was good. Well guess what its dead again. This time I put it in my mustang and it does the same shit. So I need to know how I can make this POS say its bad when they test it so they will honor the 2 year replacement. The battery is junk.

And how do I go about doing that without raising any red flags?

was it just a voltage test or a load test? voltage test will show the proper voltage but a load test should drain the battery like nothing. I just had a problem like that on the work van.

I beleive it was a load test. It took a couple minutes to do and it gave them a print out with the cranking amps and studd and says it good on the paper.

not sure then if it was a load test. I have a hand held load tester that tells you in about 15sec if a battery is screwed or not. When I put a load on mine it took the battery down past 9V. Then slowly climbed back up to 12.7 Sounds like yours has a half assed cell in it. Where its holding charge longer. Being sealed you can't drain it and refill with just water. Maybe overcharge it for a couple days straight til it starts leaking out the seams lol

Have them test it more than once.Or I like the idea of dumping the acid and pissing it it.lol. or dump the acid and replace it with water. If that fails, bring it to me,I'll make it fail.I'll load it til the plates melt!:D

Seems like these Advance batteries are nothing but s**t. I'm having the same problem with one I bought from there. New alternater, new everything...battery still wont hold a charge. Some chick, that doesn't know a screwdriver from a jackstand, did the print out test with the cranking amps an all that. Said it was good...I say get a good battery from Interstate, never failed. Only got the one from Advance cause it was closer. Good luck and keep it posted with what happens.

Killing a battery is easy. Chemistry 101, but I wont put it on an open forum. If you want to know "how" to, then PM me and I will give you step by step instructions. I have things to do tonight, so it will be tomorrow before I can get back to you. :smokin:
