Has anyone ran ranger rotors on an 89GT? I did it on my 93 lx coupe once, and wanna do it to my GT. Just not sure if the LX and GT use the same rotor...

i think the ranger rotors are smaller in diameter compaired to the gt they should be the same as the 4cyl brakes

I have ran 89 Lincoln MK8 rotors on mine before I believe. They are the same size. Then the ranger axle swap for the rear.

Well I know the left side ranger axles work for the fox's, but wasnt sure on the rotors. The 91-93 LX 4cyl rotors are 10.1" diameter, 4"height, amd .9" thick. The 89 GT rotors are 10.9"diameter, 3.7" height, and 1" thick. The Ranger rotors are 10.3" diameter, 4.1" height, and .9" thick. Just wasnt sure if there was enough give in the caliper movement and such to clear a bigger rotor. Are you guys saying you rn Mark VII rotors or Mark VIII?? The mark VII's were a fox body, Mark VIII's werent...
you want the mark seven rotors, I just finished this swap, used ranger drums and mark seven rotors. I used a set of yukon axels so im not sure what ranger axel works but you can find that on google

Also, when using the Mark Vii rotors... make sure you get them WITHOUT ABS.
For the axles if you are doing it on the cheap:
To keep the stock rear wheel offset and drums, the '83-'92 Ranger/Bronco II Left (driver) side axle (29-5/32") from a 4cyl or 3.0L V-6 with the 7.5" rear end, or '86-'97 Aerostar RIGHT side axles (29-5/32") is what you want. They are the same rear axles, the center section is just on the opposite side when you compare the rear ends. The pumpkins are also off center unlike the Mustangs, so you will have to find two vehicles to pull axles from! You will need the drums from either of these vehicles also if you are staying with rear 9" drums. The 7.5 axle Rangers & Aerostars use 9" drums. These parts are direct 5 lug replacements for the stock 9" rear drums on the 79-93 Mustangs.
*Important: Don't get the axles and drums from a Ranger with the 4.0L engine, as they use 10" rear drums with a wider 8.8" axle (unless you want to convert to larger drums!). The 8.8 in the Explorer is 1" wider per side than the Ranger/Aerostars with the 7.5" axle.
Here are some sites to do some reading up on... these are very good sites:

Sweet, thanks Jesse! I kinda figured no abs, I'm actually looking online for deals on rotors now, and man they are at cheapest $66 each. It's gonna be a few weeks before I jump on this one, doing the trans and pipes first. But if a deal pops up, well, you know me lol... Especially on the axles...
