First show was last night. I wasn't expecting much and I was still disappointed. So far, it is a poor copy of the original.

It was corny but I actually kinda liked it. It was better than what I thought.

Watched parts of it. Flipping channels... Liked the cobra chasing the viper. Should have put live rounds in the gun though. That would have been more exciting..

The U.S guys just don't have the same entertainment value as the UK guys. They are way goofier and funnier then hell on the UK show.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it'll get better as the episodes move along? Chemistry is just "off" or something. :dunno:

Go back and watch the first season of Top Gear UK, it wasn't as smooth as today :)

The UK version is in its 16th season they have not always been as good as they are. I think that to those who have never seen the original probably thought it was good. I will say this the Americans drove more reckless on the road then the Brits do, and Tanner Foust can put a car through some hell.

I enjoyed the show. Took it a 'face value' that it was the first episode of an American version of the beloved (by most) Top Gear (UK).

I'd rather watch a poor hosted (I think they'll get better) motoring show with cool cars and cinematography than 97% of the other trash on TV.

x2

It's their first episode. They haven't had a decade in which to perfect their chemistry and delivery. Give it some time. The fundamentals are there...actually, I thought the writing was pretty good. If you listened to Tanner Foust's commentary during the Stig's laps and imagined it in Clarkson's voice and inflection, it worked. I did like Adam Ferrara's segments. I think he has a lot of potential and should be the lead commentator.

It's still better than Motorweek.

I think the cast sucks.

Is it at least better than the new Knight Rider series was?

A sharp stick in the eye is better than the new Knight Rider was.

Keep tanner Shoot the other two ands replace them with Adam corrola and Justin Bell. (I met justin in person and he is funny and would be good and can drive super well). But either way I will still watch

Tanner worked the evo over Sunday. Seeing that thing busting balls down the road then not even slowing down for the snow makes me want one. I'm seriously thinking about selling my cobra to get one. It would be a lot more practical.

I couldn't even sit through the second episode.

I'll give it ONE more shot.

It's interesting and the evo demo was pretty sick! The v12 aston was dope too... I just like watching the info and driving of the cars. I haven't seen the UK version (or much of it), so I can't really compare... Might have to dvr the UK version to catch up.

I liked the 2nd episode, definitely was better than the first. Next weeks show does something that will really (I think) see if it will work. They are doing their first cheap car challenge, and if you've watched the UK version, you know they are great fun to watch.

I thought the second episode was better in terms of the interplay between the hosts (there were a few good zingers), but much room for improvement.

Don't get me wrong..i'm a Ford man through and through, but if i were rich there's no doubt in my mind my DD would be a nasty modded to hell and back Evo, and i'd throw snow tires on it for winter and rip shit up with it

A few things. They need some better drivers for sure. Everyone in the UK version can drive. Keep tanner get some drivers maybe if he would do it Ken Block..he is good, but he is stuck on the WRC.

I think the stig is tanner himself. Look at the way tanner drives and the way stig drives. looks very similar.

The evo was amazing but the UK version already did the bigger horsepower one. but it was still very good.

Still room for imporvment but i will still watch it.

For anyone who has not seen the UK version most of the shows from seasons 12 through 16 are on streetfire.net. So if your like us and don't have cable or just cant wait for tevo, give that a try. Its worth checking out.
