I traded off my 2000gt and I lasted about a month before I had to get in another mustang.

Money is even tighter on this project so it will prolly take a while to build it. Which I’m fine with me because it gives me more time to make it how I want it.

I liked the 99-04 style but after building my 2000 I wanted to get into a fox body. Seems like parts are way cheaper, cars are a lot lighter, and I just have always liked them.

Any ways I picked up a 90lx coupe it’s a 5 speed 4 cyl. Car but I plan on swapping it all out for a v8

I’ll try and post a lot of pics of the progress of the car as I’m working on it.

the in side is ripped apart seats out, dash, the pedals, Steering column all the wiring and all the heating/air stuff is out.

thanks jesse yea its a nice coupe.

i got to get the wiring finished up on it. there is just a couple plugs that dont have anything to plug in to. i dont no if im just missing some thing or they just get left that way.

after that then im gonna start cutting on trunk and everything :eek: should be fun.

this weekend im messing with the rearend.

and put plate over the the hole i cut to make a nice flat trunk. that way i can put a fuel cell in the trunk.

hell I would keep it that way with the plate to cover it. You can do fluid changes and readjust your uppers without laying down lol just shove a small 2gal cell in the corner

o got fully ajustable control arms im gonna clean up a little and throw them on.

yea im putting a plat over it that can come on and off. yea it opens up all kinks of room i can sit in there and change control arms.

i get more pics this weekend of wat i got going on. :D

That oughta bring some attention at local gas stations when you have to get in the trunk to put gas in... Unless you're going sleeper and using the stock fuel door for fuel filling...

Oh I meant to tell you man, the night i brought that gray dash to you, that the duplicolor black is a pretty good match to factory black... I've tried SEM and all those, and dont like the way they lay down even with a good prep. Get some of that bulldog adhesion promoter too. you can get all that at advance I believe, last time i checked.

Get your ignition switch in yet that we were looking at between both cars?

Oh cool! I thought these were older pics from when you just started putting the interior together! yeah I think if you had a slightly smaller, newer pair of vise grips it would get those pesky bolts out. I've done it before but man it's tedious... the grips always pop off after less than a 10th of a turn, lol but hey, a grinder works too hahaha

Now that you have the suspension out of it. That would be a good time to go to KOI paint store and pick up a quart of rust-seal. Apply with a brush, put some carpet down so you dont permanently stain your floor, and wear clothes you dont care about.... and gloves and a face mask... lol

Nice Work ! It's not everyday you see a good tig weld. Since I am without a tig welder I will be forced to buy a prebuilt. I seem to only be finding cells that I like with chevy senders, so I can't use the original fuel guage. I'm keeping a close eye on your project in the trunk, because I'm doing the same thing. With a new house and two little kiddies, I get about 2 hours a week to wrench. Hopefully both of these cars will be rollin by summer and we can meet up and compare trunks. Good luck on the project and keep me updated !

thanks man. yeah im the same way just bought new house only been in it for prolly 3 months now. and when we got it it need every thing replaces and painted everything. turning out nice tho. but yea it leaves me no time in the garage. but yea i'd like you check yours out also when its all done.

i'll try to get more pics here soon. i got the plate in the trunk. i just gotta make some brackets to hold it in place. and fuel cell is just about finished also.

I'm running three pieces of 1" box tubing from frame rail to frame rail and then triangulating some pieces in between. I'm then planning on stitch welding the floor plate in then drilling holes in the plate above the tubing for some button welds. Are you doing any type of frame or will your cell be coming through the hole in the floor ?

im gonna rivet it down tho the floor that way i can just drill em if i need to get the plate out for something. and i not sure on the framing under it yet. the plate i got is thicker then wat your using its about 1/8 to 3/16 thk. so i might not even need tubing under it. i'll hopefully have some pics to show you wat i got planned.

That hood looks like one I sold over the summer. I hope it isn't cause it wasn't very straight once you got it on the car. On the upside, you can check your engine while your driving......downside is you can't see much of anything else. Bye Bye windshield wipers !

I had a stock hood laying around so I'm using it for now. When it comes time for paint I'll probably run between a 2 and 4 inch cowl hood. I actually liked the look of the 6 inch to the windshield. One night I drove the car down to my dad's and ended up having one to many cold ones so I stayed the night....which the wife was none too happy about. When I woke up it was raining sideways and I had to call my wife to come get me because I didn't have windshield wipers. After packing up our 2 little kids and driving 40 minutes to pick me up.....lets just say she was not pleased. I swapped the hood later that week !

Was my coupe, I traded it away a few years ago. I would at least use 1x1 as bracing for your tank. The guy that did mine also integrated a battery mount which was extremely sturdy.

i got some tube and i think after looking at this one i might add in a couple for bracing. yea i was gonna rig something up for the battery.

Other than that... man... with that hood... stuff it down low on some 15x10 bogarts or something in the back and 15x3's up front... tits!

That's why I call it project "Middletown". No where except for Middletown would you completely strip a car for paint, primer it (Middletown grey), then put it all back together. Complete with a crooked ass 5.0 emblem :lol: The primer looks like they used a roller !!! :screwy: Don't worry, she will look like a streamlined butterfly in no time !
And yes the Camaro wheels kick ASS !:cool2:

im a designer so when im slow at work i draw things up for my car :bigthumb

i had a cell that was smaller and since i live in the middle of no where i figure i make a larger one so i can aleast make it home from gas station.

i draw stuff up a buddy cuts it out and and another buddy andy (02GT on here) welds it up. you can pm him about wat something like that might cost ya. but i draw him things up when he needs something so he hooks me up with welding things up

haha no really i dont have hardly any money in it. i just been trading to get everything for it. so far i been kinda lucky. people have stuff i need and i have stuff it my way that they will trade for. lol. running out of things to trade tho so i figure i should just start putting my collection of parts on the car instead of around it:lol:

me and donald messed with yours a little last weekend and got it to fire up and idle and every thing. its coming along :bigthumb
