These are real GT40's, they had 2 different height valve springs when I dissassembled them. The new springs are the same height as all the intakes valves, but too tall for exhaust which causes a different spring rate on the exhaust valves. The spring mounting area is flat accross the head but the retainer area on exhaust valves is lower down the stem. Do I need diff valves, diff springs, or have the heads machined down the diff on all the exhaust valves????

thats normal for all gt40/gt40p/e7 heads. You can either buy exhaust valves, change to +.050'' and -.050'' locks, machine spring pocket, there are many options

You can buy + .050 retainers. They are usually offered through machine shop and valve company wholesalers. I might be able to get you some. The TFS kit comes with exhaust and intake retainers, two different ones, as the factory has valve rotators that move the retainer up the valve. When you take the stock stuff off, you end up with the lock groove further down the valve and they look like the heads you have pictured. Chances are the heads you have were installed from the factory on a vehicle.
