Just figured i would put a thread up to show whats going on with my car.

Specs:
99 contour se sport
2.5V6 5speed
All stock with 142,xxx
Was daily driver but since i found a stretched timing chain im going to swap it out for a 3.0

Hoping to get this done asap so i will update it with pics asap. Anyone have any advice on this? I know some people know of the swap and some have more info than i do, the search feature on contour.org sucks lol

i there is a bunch of decisions to make with it. i would recomend just buying a set of aftermarket headers for the car while the motor is out. heres a few pictures. i lucked into getting a 2007 Escape motor for mine with only 30k on it for 500 bucks. Good luck!

make sure you have a good cutting wheel and grinding bit. your going to need to do alot of sanding on one of the motor mounts and cutting off parts of the block to make the 2.5 alt braket to fit on the 3.0 motor. and getting the pilot bearing out of the 3.0 you have to do some grinding.

I think if you get a 05 and down motor, besides cougar mount and a few other small misc things its a direct swap. was looking and found to get a 05 and down vin code s so the valve covers, timing cover, and oil pan will all fit from the 2.5

Cool build...i always liked the SVT Contours.

There's a guy on the Festiva forum who put one of these 3.0s in a Festiva
