It seems like it always happens to me... But for the first time I caught it before I even left. Yesterday afternoon I found a T5 on cl, so I txt the guy and asked the usual questions. Case numbers?, was it a good trans?, any issues whatsoever? and the answers were all positive. So I get the addy, and was planning on heading his way right after work. Then it happened... I was browsing CL a lil bit more, came across another add that described the exact same thing. Motor (converted to carb), tranny (no bell) with stock clutch, and he was asking $600 obo for em. The clincher here is, the first add had pics and stated that the tranny popped out of 2nd gear, which my current tranny has 2nd gear issues. The new add says all is well with the trans, and it's in perfect working order. So after I had already planned on picking it up, I called the guy and he backpeddled and said that wasnt his add. Even after I mentioned his name and phone number was on both adds, he still tried to deny it. I know times are hard, and the holidays are near, but thats no reason to rip people off. So just be careful and do a lil research before any of you get ripped. I would have had to drove back down to that guys house and thrown this tranny through his windshield had I put it in my car and it not been good as stated. Shew, I feel better lol, sorry this was so long!

I know I know, but trying to do it on the cheap. If I rebuild it with the hard parts I'm gonna need I know I'll be well over $500. That puts me close to a used Tremec or something better than a stock t5. It's a double edged sword. I was also hoping to just get a good one and swap in, but my lucks not showing to be running that way lately... I'm glad to Black, I woulda literally thrown it through his windshield had I put it in and it been bad...

Yeahh I understand. But that's only if it needs hard parts lol but yeah. I know how it is to find good stuff cheap. I think the prices on stuff will come down a little after the first of the year.
