WHere to mount fittings for valve cover evac

Going to set my engine up this year with a line from each valve cover going to a catch can. What is the correct placement on the valve cover (top front, top rear) for the fittings and what size fittings are normally used?

I used -12 on the last setup I did, incase I ended up using a vacuum pump. Its a little extra cost over -8 or 10 but not much more. There are alot of options with catch cans with -12 as well. The bungs were placed at the top in the front.

I put 10an fittings in the front of my v/c's to use with either a catch can or vacumn pump. You can see the blue caps on the front of the v/c's in the pic.
