Apparently Facemelter was on to something a few weeks ago when he told me RT 4 was cursed for me. This will be the 3rd accident for my family on rt 4 in 16 months. A young girl pulled out in front of my wife and JUST STOPPED. STOPPED.... WTF would you pull across a lane of traffic going 50mph and stop? Luckily My wife is Ok just sore and bruised. When will people realize them being a Jackass behind the wheel is more than just an inconvience for commuters stuck in traffic. I think the driving age should be raised to 21. She hammered a supercrew F-150 in the drivers door at speed so Im surprised the escape held up as well as it did. Other driver was cited and they have good insurance (this time ) so hopefully we can have this over with quickly.

If plated can breathe life back into this he is a magician, at this rate I will literally be putting his kids thru college. Plated will you go on retainer for me? We want to rebuild if we can since the mileage isnt high and she loves it, if not I've already found a clone 5 hrs away to serve as a placebo.

I need to buy property in Ross or monroe so I can banish RT 4 from my commute forever.

Where did that happen?

Sorry for your luck. I drive RT4 daily and haven't (knock on wood) had any problems. I don't really see a lot of wrecks either.

WOW! My wife was broad sided as she went to cross an intersection on a green light. She is still having some issues from the whip lash. Don't let your wife write this off as a simple bruise and bump ordeal. Get her to a doctor to make sure that there aren't other injuries. Not saying to go ambulance chasing at all, I am against that in an "accident" situation. However you still need to protect yourself and your spouse healthwise and not just write it off. My wife's car was a total loss.

Speaking of crappy drivers, I will agree with you. As far as the age limit I cannot honestly or fairly agree (though I would like to). What I do agree with is instating a requirement that ALL license holders are required to retake written driving tests every 10 years to insure that they know the laws and rules of driving. The fact that a person can go take an eye test and pay 27.00 (or whatever it is) and get a renewed license is overly laxed. Too many loons out there have no idea of the the proper way to approach a 4-way stop, or how to observe a traffic signal light that has gone into service mode (flashing red), or that they are required to signal lane changes for more than to indicate "I am coming over regardless of the fact you are where I want to be.", or poking 45 in the fast lane on an interstate that clearly has signs stating "slower traffic keep right", or that merge means "GET YOUR DAMN CAR UP TO SPEED ON THE RAMP AND MATCH TRAFFIC AS YOU GET ON THE FREAKING INTERSTATE!!".

Okay I'm done. LOL!

That same thing happened to us last fall in my work truck, A kid ran the red light @ rt4 and bypass 4 and Tboned us. We are going day by day right now, lots of naps, ice bags, rest and medication. She got checked out at the ER to rule out spinal injuries but we will have to cancel our non-refundable ski vacation for Feb 4, 5, 6, since she is having a hard time moving around. She also missed work the past few days and will play hell finishing her clincial rotations for school. It will probably be a few days before she is willing to drive again. Bruising from the seatbelt and airbag are better than a windshield halo.

Thanks for everone's well wishes and prayers.

Here's a few more photo's I snapped while retrieving the stroller and some papers out of it this morning. Kudos to FoMoCo for making a car to take a hit above the framerails at high speed and not affect the passenger compartment:bigthumb. Luckily my son was not in the car.

What part of route 4?

I totaled a car one Saturday and the next Saturday was involved with a road rage driver last August.

If you are hit by a well dressed Latino who has Safe Auto INS. card, you are screwed. I'm out over $2000 after my INS. gave me $2300 for my car.

Rt 4 just south of boymel. Driver pulled across both southbound lanes out of mcd's to travel north and my wife (traveling south) took her in the drivers door.

That is a congested area. I imagine it depends a lot, on the time of day. I have had one close call in that area, but was more fortunate than your wife.

Hope she recovers soon!

Too lazy to go around the building AS DIRECTED by signage to exit property onto Boymel to make a SAFE left turn onto NB RT4.

I think I'm just gonna find a safer mode of transit altogether... like having jack roush teach me to fly experimental aircraft.

On the upside this one has insurance, I'm just gonna fab some mad max brush guards for everything I have. These things never happen to that creature looking ram I have.

Glad your wife is mostly ok. I drive a truck for a living so needless to say I scream a lot....The police don't write tickets for people doing stupid crap anymore. mostly they are too busy with calls for service and driving quality is suffering a lot. It sure looks totalled to me. I really need a charcoal armrest for the center console if you don't need it:)

Glad she is ok, looks like it was a hum dinger, just the thought of metal crashing makes me cringe, and the stupidity of people really amazes me sometimes. The first thing that came to my mind when I had my accident last week was...were they on their cell phone. Like they would ever admit it but you just have to ask yourself these days.

It got wiped, negotiated value w/ them from 8,600 to 11,800 last week got the check on Tues and bought an exploder for her to drive till we get a new edge for her in the fall. I did swipe the head unit so if anybody needs a Mach 300 6 disc in dash changer drop me a line
