Discount on Microsoft Windows 7?

Anyone here able to get windows 7 at a cheaper than retail price? I am not asking for any pirated software, so please only legit help here.

I'm trying to hold off on buying a new pc if possible, but the sworn to be legit copy of windows xp pro that came with a pc I bought off craigslist a few years ago has been nagging me to validate lately, and I'd like to just upgrade to 7 and start with a fresh pc again. I plan to build a new pc/upgrade this one soon, but in the mean time since I don't need a computer I'd rather get this cheaper and try to limp by until I get a pc build together.

Using my business account I get the legit copy from micro center as a system builder version for about 2/3 of the retail version. No book or nothing just a disk and a number.

I'd have to go look I want to say I paid about $100 for the better version. I would have to go look at their wall to remember exactly what is was. They change the names pro/home etc... every so often but I bought the pro version, I don't have luck with home versions.

Does anyone know how the 64 bit does with gaming? Should i just stick with 32?

what he said. 32bit will only utilize 3 gigs of ram no matter how many you have installed on your motherboard.

A bunch of software doesn't work with 64 bit. Read the label carefully before you buy. I bought a 64 bit xp that I luckily sold to someone else because the software I wanted to run didn't work.

That is quite a deal, I know I had a hard drive failure shortly after installing mine and I had to call them to use it again. One pc only, xp you could get away with a few.

I have issues like that all the time...how many times will they let you reinstall? If that's the case i'll stick with XP.

i have been running 64 bit for years, never had a issue with software ... some places might have a 64bit and 32 bit version, but 64 bit is backwards compatible i believe

One of our graphics programs would not work with it. Corel I think it was.
