On a cable actuated system is the throwout bearing supposed to ride on the fingers of the clutch and spin when the pedal is not being depressed or is it supposed to be pulled back far enough that it doesnt spin?

It will have slight drag and spin with the pressure plate fingers, unless you power shift a sycronized trans, then it will have a lot more pressure on it:lol:

FREE TRAVEL is what your asking about. The brg will spin a bit but should have no presure. free travel should be about and inch.
