They seem to be tougher than some people think. My car has a T45 and had 525rwhp to it. couple of years of terror and pulled it out and it was great. Upgraded to the 99 cobra forks and new synchros and good to go. Maybe its hit and miss though, car was running 10.9X's (previous owner).

I went through 3 of em in my supercharged 4v i had a few years back,third gear was always the first to start whining, I finally upgraded to a t-56.
