I must say, i can't stand Apple. I hate their OS, i hate their computers, i hate their CEO, i hate the iPad. Hasn't anyone opened their damn eyes and realized the iPad is nothing more than a laptop without a CDROM and a touch screen instead of a keyboard? C'mon people the wool is over your eyes! It's nothing new!
That said, i still think the iPod is one of the greatest gadget inventions of our time. It might not have been the first Mp3 player, but IMO it's the best. I'm saying that after having a 30gb iPod Video crap out on me, and i still think they're the best. I've tried a bunch of them, and iPods just sound better. The sound quality is second to none and it's not all about the EQ. Other players i've tried sound like they're coming out of a tin can...iPods sound like you have a high quality audio system plugged into your ears.
I don't really care for the new Nano...it's too small. I'm not a huge fan of touch screens especially one that small because i have sausage fingers, so i scored a used 16gb from Plato's Closet for $80. I probably could've got one cheaper but i saw them on eBay for $165 and this one came with a $20 clear case protector so i snatched it up.
This thing is, Effin awesome. It sounds fantastic, takes really good quality video for a gadget like this, it has motion detection, voice detection, reads song/artist titles outload if you want it to, has a built in speaker (kinda sucks but good for the voice readouts), and it only measures around 1/4 inch thick so it basically disappears in your pocket. I think Apple really screwed up when they downsized the new version. If you're in the market for an Mp3 player, i'd highly recommend getting one of these used if you can find one before you can't get them anymore.
While you're at it, don't waste your time with the iPod ear buds...they blow. All of them do, even the high end ones they sell separate. Go to Target and buy some Skull Candy Titan year buds...they're about $35 and they are flat out amazing. They hold bass as good as Bose and Denon ear buds for a fraction of the cost.
