Mine was a 1973 pontiac lemans with the factory 350 4 barrel carb with headers and glass packs. Man that thing was ugly as hell. It looked like an arrow head. But I will tell you what this sucker would blow the tires off of it. LOL.

First car was a pretty rare '76 Buick Apollo GSX. I never got to drive it, mom sold it out form under me. First car i ever bought with my own money was a POS '80 Buick Regal. I drove it to the end of the driveway to take out the trash and did donuts around the back yard, never got to drive it on the street. First car i bought with my own money and actually got some seat time in was an '87 Cavalier Z24, which really was a pretty cool car...bought it for $400, sold it for $800 lol. It was about 3 years later i got my first Mustang, which was an '88 GT.

I had an 88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe. I had a lot of fun but it was a total money pit. It cost me a fortune to keep it on the road.

Me too my second car i did get too drive it was a 1971 chevy impala 2 door with the 350 4 barrell in it also. It come factory with the 350 turbo trans and I remember the air breather said on it 350 300 h.p on it. that big sucker would get up and go son. But sadly the guy i sold it to come up from covington kentucky and was going down 71 south in it at over 100 mph in the rain and lost it and hit the under neath a bridge piller and horse shoed the car killing the impala and his wife called me and said the guy broke his hip and left leg, i told him to becareful in the rain because the impala loved to walk sideways in the rain. The 300 horse 350 had balls. I sure miss that car. And yah i know most of my first cars were chevys. LOL

My first car started when I was 7 years old, my dad pulled our BA 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ it was a the first car I remember as a kid had a hood tac it was sweet, but dad pulled into the Chevy dealer in Bethel and on the show room sat what was to become my first car a 1980 Camaro Z-28 white with the red and orange stripes, had maroon leather, t-tops, and best of all a 4-speed, I put 30,000 miles on it the first summer I started driving. I can remember we went to the dealer on a friday, they pulled it off of the show room floor handed dad the keys and told him to take it home for the weekend..... didnt even take any of our info all they had was our old GP

I almost scored a '76h Ford Elite a while back. The '70s were such a funny time for cars.

It looked exactly like this one.

Man that car had some monster torque. It would pin you in the seat. I always thought it was a big block but nope it was a Windsor. For such a big heavy car, it had a ton of bottom end. It was my step dad's car and he got it from his mother so it was only a 2 owner car and it was sooooo clean. The only thing that didn't work were the wipers. It even had a 8 track

The Apollo....now that was a love affair right there. I was 14 and i guess really it wasn't my car since it was never titled to me and i never drove it but man i wanted it so bad. I guess it was about a '74 too...looked identical to this car. The brakes were really bad and mom was afraid of it because it was pretty fast.

My first was a 1973 plymouth satalite 4 door. 318 2 barrel, 904 auto, 8 1/4 rear. Busted knuckles learning on that. Put in a 360, 727, 8 3/4. Then got my hands on a 73 Charger. Transferred everything over and sent the 4 door to the junkyard. Oh the memories in the back suite of that car.

I kind of had two first cars. When I was 18 months old, my dad ran across a 1958 Biscayne 4 door with straight six with 27,000 miles when he was driving through Georgia. He bought it for me for when I turned 16.

When I turned 16, I wanted to put a 350 in it, get it painted, basically hot rod it. My dad told me, "You aren't doing anything with that car but restoring to to original, it only has 34,000 miles on it, if you want something to tool on, we'll find you something."

So basically, I decided I wanted something I could modify, so we found a 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber with 302 and 3 speed manual on the floor.

Here are a couple pics (not mine, just same color).

My first car was my brothers 1989 240sx Hatchback. Bought it from him for like $800 not running, had to rebuild it. Somehow the mechanical fan caught the MAF wires, broke off the intake, shot all that out underneath the car and during the same situation it slung rod bearings so I had to rebuild the engine. Took me forever to get the gold dust cleaned out of the oil pan, it must take effort to do what he did to the engine.

At any rate, was the only car I've ever touched almost every detail on, painted car and engine bay, painted engine block, powdercoated all parts that could be, polished valve cover, interior restored, factory wheels restored, etc, etc, etc...Built it to boost it with a junkyard turbo setup, but could not find anyone that would fab a manifold for me. This was a couple years before imports were very big.

My first car was an 88 Cutlass ciera. Lasted 38 minutes of driving, exactly. Iron duke 4cyl or whatever it was slung a rod due to a slight lack of oil haha.

Next car was a 1997 Neon Sohc, with a bunch of suspension work, Prothane bushings, Tokico Illuminas, ACR swaybars, Eibach pro-kit, etc... Also had an exhaust, and intake, short throw and clutch. Ran pretty good for what it was.

my 98 gt in my avatar is my first car. i bought it when i was 15 not running and the car had sat under a tree for 3 years and that combined with a leak in the top meant the interior was in pretty bad shape. i cleaned it up and saved some money and replaced the motor. and thats pretty much how it sits now with a couple mods.

All you guys started with some pretty cool cars, mine was a 86 Chevy Nova(basically a Toyota Corrolla) four cylinder my dad got for free. You could see through the rear quarter into the car and then out the other side! It had about 250,000 miles on iy and it started and ran great everyday for about a year.
