I use the Mothers "Powerball" along with Mothers "PowerMetal aluminum polisher", and the results are nothing less than stunning!
Peace :cool2:

Hands down, Busch's aluminum polish. Get it at a pilot gas station. Use microfiber cloth

If they are aluminum I have heard some rubbing compound and steel wool works good. Anyone ever try this? From what I know it will not scratch and will take the oxidation and milkyness off??? I'm going to try it on the grill of my 70' F100.

Be leary of the steel wool, I wouldn't try it. Afterwords you'll have to polish your ass off to bring any shine back. Scotch brite will kill the shine so I know the wool is a bad idea.

Just a question, not trying to start any kind of arguement in any way. Isn't the steel wool basically the same material as an S.O.S pad? I found the topic on a ford truck site that had pics and a write up of it and it looks very good. Just wondered if anyone else had tried this? http://www.fordification.com/tech/polishing-trim.htm this is a link, a don't think they used the steel wool in this one though, just a few people had commented on it that was another way to go. Good luck fella, let us know how it turns out whichever method you use.

I wasn't trying to argue either , I would just be careful. I had a jeep that I used scotchbrite on, to get the brake dust off of the polished wheels and they were pretty much shot after that. Went from a polished to a satin look in about 10 min. Did get the brake dust off though!

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a 3 inch buffing kit...it will have some pads that look like this (might not be colored, but shaped like this)
http://images.tcpglobal.com/dew/DEW-DW849-TCP3WAF-KBAGw600.jpg
The base attaches to a drill and the pads velcro on. Use them with any good aluminum polish...i've used Mothers because it's easy to find. This worked much better than the power ball for me. If i remember right the kit was something like $14. My Welds came out looking chromed.

They are apparently lazy. I actually bought mine on a whim on the way back from north western indiana. Just wander around in there... you'll find it. Its in a black bottle, with lots of pretty shiney parts on the label. I think the lettering is red.

ND is the best stuff. I had some wheels that were as dull and rusty as could be. That stuff made em look brand new.

Bought my first powerball the other day and that thing does a surprisingly good job for a being a bunch of foam. I don't really care for the old school mothers polish I had at the house so I'm looking for a better polish but to be honest the welds looked killer when I was done.

Powerball is ok if your limited to work area or tools. I just dont care for the thought of it getting cluttered up and then being put to use on a really nice wheel, but they do bring em back somewhat. I say if you are gonna do it by hand, go find a can of Meguiers Hot Rimz paste cleaner in the black can. It's pink paste, and is AMAZING! Make sure you buy your own applicator pad, they dont come with one. But I've tried everything under the sun, and that stuff is the SHIT! I just bought 4 cans the other day because it was on sale lol. I use it to clean my polishing after I'm done, and for upkeep throughout the year too. It also works awesome on chrome and stainless too!

An old truck driver told me once to wash the rims with soap and water, dry 'em, then, rub the shit outta them with flour and they'll look brand effing new.

What year is your car? Ive always like the front nose, kinda reminds me of the box look on the 85 capri's.

It's an '85 with a '79 Pace Car/'82 GT nose and valance. Ford only used that nose/valance on those two model cars, never on a coupe. It's my favorite Mustang front end and i love coupes so i had to make it happen.

windex and steel wool before polishing. u can do windex and steel wool and not even have to polish but both steps make it worth while.
