Bought a 94 Z28, couldn't find a mustang I could afford..... Good running car but has a miss at idle and under load. Runs like a raped ape at wot. It has a new optispark, plugs and wires so I'm thinking I may have a bad or dirty injector...

Define "raped ape." Stock LT1 right?

You better watch out for a stock 5.0 fox with a gear and a driver!!!

First, you have to keep in mind I havent had a fast car for months. Second, I believe the motor is probably stock but it has longtubes, cai, Borla exhaust, and 3.73's. Third, it doesnt have drag radials so it blows the tires off like a John Force burnout and when it shifts into second gear the backend tries to pass the frontend.... I'm sure its prob a low 13 sec car but with the street tires on it, feels like a pro stocker. It will prob feel slow within a few days....:D

I found a loose spark plug, a split in the air intake elbow (sucking air in after the maf meter) and I replaced the coolant temp sensor (for ecm) and now it runs smooth and doesnt smell like gas is running out of the tail pipes..... I think if I get back to work and get some extra cash I'm going to put a rear mount turbo setup on it and play around with a f-body for awhile... I'll go back to a mustang eventually...

I had a 93 Z-28 some years ago and bought it because of the price. Ran pretty good. Seats were rough on the long haul though. Legs would fall a sleep. I had a miss onthe high end after the car would warm up. Turned out to be the EGR valve sticking. It's a bear to get to. Almost as bad as trying to gettothose frigging plugs. Yip been there too.

Glad to see the weather is great. Just left Marion, Ohio this AM and they were being pounded wiuth snow. Had 6" at 7AM, snow coming down almost sideways with 25mph winds. They were calling for an additional 4 inches by 11AM so I pulled chalks at 7 and made tracks south. Took 1.5 hours just to get to Delaware. 4 hours overall just to the north side of cincinnati. Take it easy down there.

Keep the faith. You will find a great job. It is there. You know it is. Still waiting to receive that wearm weather care package you promised!!!!!

lol cool cool. My first "hot rod" was a 93 & 1/2 Z28. Red with black painted hard top. Loved that car, got tons of tickets...and learned that I hate the M6 trans that came with it. You need to get a cam/tune, then you can upgrade to raped ape status.

I'll tell ya what, with LT's I can do all of my plugs in under 20 min. With stock shorties, that passenger side is a pain in the d**k. That's LS1 tho....LT1 I haven't done, but I've seen how the stock headers look on those. Good god, they make LS1 plugs look easy. How do you get the ones under the headers??

you have to get a couple from the bottom

With LT's it's not bad. I have to get the rear passenger from underneath too. With stock shorties (on an LS1) there's a flange (sp?) and it's just a real pain to get to even from underneath.

on a lt1 with lt's you can do all of them from top in about 20 min

A person would have to have infant size hands and be related to Stretch Armstrong with a lttle bit of Superman in them to change all the plugs from the top in a 20 min span.... At least 2 or 3 HAS to be done from the bottom.

As long as you have lt's on it, its a walk in the park
