Can you swap a 4.6L eng.code 6 with a 4.6L eng.code w. I have a 2002 explorer with a eng.code w and found a 1998 4.6L but has the eng.code 6. I dont know if there is a difference. If there is, what is it? THANKS

You could but you will add a bunch of weight a and loose a bunch of power. The Explorer engine is an aluminum block with PI heads the 98 engine will have the NPI heads and iron block. The difference is about 80 pounds and ~40 HP.

aluminum block vs cast iron block. swaping it wouldnt be a problem but ^^^^he's right^^^ it is a significant weight difference
