Just got back from Brenspeed. Stage 2 custom grind cams, Stage3 upgrade to the blower. Final dyno numbers:

467RWH/433RWT!!! S197 guys, this is the place for mods!!!!!!

Cam has a very nice rough idle. Very drivable. Had clutch redone as well (Exedy Mach 500). Old clutch from last year looked fine, but could not stand all of the noise a twin disk makes. Also found that the slave cylinder was bad as well. NEVER, EVER let anyone tell you you can reuse a slave cylinder on a hydraulic setup when you replace the clutch. I should have gone with my gut and had it replaced instead of listening. $200.00 savings ended up costing way more in the end.

yup that sucks

Yip, it does. More than one opinion (one a Ford tech not on here) said the slave cylinder would most likely be okay to be reused. Since the tranny was already out, and I was not liking the feel of the twin disk and the rattle it made at lower RPM, I went ahead and swapped back to a single disk clutch that was also a little less aggressive, and had a lighter weight matching flywheel. Steel flywheel only weighs 18 lbs. No joke. Not as heavy as a conventional flywheel but heavier than an aluminum by about 8-10 lbs. Still breaking in but feels and sounds much nicer. Egngagement as well is much closer to the floor than with the twin disk which is what I prefer being I don't do any competing and only go to a test/tune and run once in a while.

The clutch and flywheel that came out look almost new. No burn marks, signs of slippage or anything. Just didn't like the noise it made at lower rpm or the release point, which is great if you are racing. May just hang onto it or sell it if the opportunity should arise. After all there is $1050.00 in parts (new) sitting there in clutch and flywheel.

By the way that is dedication...shining the tires before leaving the lot! :bigthumb

Thanks. thanks so much. The real enjoyment would have been doing it myself in a garage with electric I don't have and tools I don't have. I envy the guys that have the nice one or two car garage with electric, the tools, talent, motivation. determination, a wife that understands, and a little courage to just go at and do it. Hats off to the true racers. I can only talk theory and enjoy. But then again, turning wrenches all week all over the country on CNC fabrication equipment does not motivate me to want to do much when home on the weekends aside from wash and drive. LOL!!!!

Go to Discounttiredirect.com. Get their price and Miamisburg or the north side dayton locatin will match it. 285-40-18 - $200 ea, 255-45-18 - $176 each. Car is like its on a railroad track now compared to the GY- F1's. The tires support the reviews on the website. They hook after they have afew hundred on them as well comapritively. Don't get me wrong there is no substitute for MT ETstreet or ET Drags, but they are one of the better street DD tires for perfomance I have had yet.

I wont have the black coupe this year though. It was a replaced.

The new fox will be more highway friendly and faster than the coupe. So all is good.

nice numbers

Thanks. Just drove up to the bank to deposit a check. Some old guy was completely perplexed seeing a newer style car and hearing it lope like an old cammed up GT Fairlane. The guys there did a great job on the cam design. They would not tell me squat about the specs though. So nothing there to talk about. Believe me I tried.

Thanks Steve. How's the vert doing? Tom okay?

Life is good... Was out with Tom and kids last night.

Picked up the MAF I need for the vert today at Cincy Speed, now to install it and go back down to finish the tune, maybe Tuesday. A little worried fuel might be the next problem. If there is a fuel problem I'll take what I can get (power wise) and fix it over the winter.

Post a clip, curious to hear this beast!!!!

Just got a new DSLR that will let me do that, but then need to figure out how to attach it. A guy from the S197Forums website video'd it while on the dyno and told me he'd post it on Youtube as well. Mine was the appetizer car while his made 572 as teh main course. That was a nice sounding car. It's about like Bills black S197. He has the same cams but the N/A version.

Hey mon, was passing through there at 9:30pm at night. Kim was already on fire and on the wart trail about me not calling her until 6:00 pm because I was running real late. I had to get home or I would have swung by there. I am planning on making it up to a Friday night on the green thing and bringing the hound with me. Will call you when that happens. Or better yet maybe I can bring him up soon on a saturday that you find yourself off work.

Sorry man, hope you understand.

Yeah that's true. Just quoting my father-in-law who is a retired preacher. Before he retired he played on a golf league in which he was the youngest player. They all retired leaving him the last one still owrking. So whan they would give him a hard time about not being retired yet he would tell them that he was slowly working his way down to it and that he was only down to working one day a week. He peobably put in more hours in a week as a full time preacher than most fast food managers do and made way less, but it was his passion, and still is.

Once the clutch is through its break in period sure. Would be fun. May be close at that. Wouldn't a side-side finsh be cool? Of course if you win I can still claim its because I am older and slower. Just kidding. LOL!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::bigthumb:bigthumb

05 Mustang GT specs say 3483. Thats wth stock bullet rims. The Gt500 wheels have a little more wieght to them and the added weight of the SC probably bring it in right at 3560 or so on a guess. Nothing else has been added to the stock weight. I could have weighed it at the plant tomorrow but have to go to a down machine in Troy, Ohio in the co. car, so that shoots that opportunity. It still weights less either way than the 2011 or the newer Camaros according to the specs on the web I have seen. Not a light car by any means. Whats your torque rating?

I believe mine made 453.XX/425tq something like that. The big variable is my car's weight. I really have no idea what it weighs. I know it hauls balls tho for what it is. I can't wait to get another notch, gut it, and put an LSX in it :D

Hows that??????? LOL!!!!!! Ive got a hunch it will be a pretty tight run based on numbers GVW. We should be pretty close. Will be fun to see though.
