Ok all. I dont post on here much, but would like to see if there is any interest in something. I am an active member at www.buckeyegoats.com. there is a young Marine over there with a GTO looking to get a few people together before his deployment to Aphganistan. Here is a copy of his post.

I'm coming back home before my deployment to afghan and I would like to get a cruise together for April 1st. Plans are to meet up somewhere around the Newport area for some food around 400pm or even a little meet up. Then cruise to the track arLund 515ish for some good clean fun, racing or spectating. Entry fee is 15 for driver and 10 for spectator. Let me know if anyone is interested in goin. I wouldn't mind getting to know some of the club before I pump out for deployment.

I realy dont know him. Just thought it would be kind of cool if I (we) could surprise him with a bunch of support for his service. My idea would be to have a few guys meet him and then without letting him know cruise to a nearby spot and have a shitload of people there to show him some support for his service. Anybody interested? If so I will keep updates posted here. Take care.

We have a meeting spot. IMHO, the best would be meeting at Newport Shopping Center, which is right off I-471 & has plenty of room for a gathering, food & easy access for a cruise to Edgewater. We will meet at 4pm. Lets show this Jarhead how much we appreciate what he does for us. Thanks for the supprt guys.

Carl you big hearted hippie!! Sorry I haven't posted yet, I just seen this thread. Count me in. Does this mean your gonna run that supercharged show queen of yours down the track??? Hopefully a bunch of SBZ can show. This is truly for a great cause! Save me a lane at the track Carl..lol.

Could you supply a little more info on location than this? There are a lot of exits off 471. Where abouts at this mall or plaza?

How are you planning on going? Around 275 or straight up 75 to 74 and ti Harrison avenue and out to m.river road? There area couple that would like to kmnwo. If you are going around the loop past lawrenceburg they will meet up with you there. I am planning on either meeting you guys down there or at the track. Depends on he mood of my wife and if she rides along or stays home.

Yea, if you are heading up 275 pass the airport and head up to the Lawrenceburg exit I can see you guys coming from the larosa pizza on route 50. I can meet the caravan and catch up. I live in Lawrenceburg, Indiana....

E20's track (for racing) will be closed if it rains or is raining in the evening. Therefore I wouldn't be going personally if thats the case. If it dries up butthe streets are still yucky I will drive the wife's car and still be there regardless if others will still show. This weather forcast changes by the minute, but that is March. IT was supposed to be dry th,Fr,Sa. But now calling for 30% on Friday of course.

Weather looks less than desirable tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know we are still on for this. I have a room reserved at Beef O Bradys from 4 till 5:45. If its not raining we are still going to the track. Carl

Damn weather sucks!!! Every weather station and TV station says something different every hour. Last night they were saying rain around 10 or 11:00 at night. Now this morning they are saying around 5 or 6:00 this evening. I hope it doesnt. I've seen it rain on us all the way down to Harrison and E miami River rd before and be completely dry a few miles down the street at the track. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Well Chad not sure about the cruise itself cause we did not participate in that but you didn't miss much at the track tonight. Slick cars couldn't even make a pass cause the track was slick as snot. The street tire guys seem to be getting down alright but even some of them were having traction issues. Especially the guys running turbos and stuff.

Sorry to have missed you guys Steve, was looking forward to mingling a bit but will have to wait now until 4.10. I wasn't planning on making any passes tonight either way. Will be making a few here in the near future though. Looking forwardto seeing what the newest mods will gain. Glad you didn't have any mishaps like the one that went intothe wall that stang88 was telling me about on the phone. See you guys soon.

I went to the cruise and to E20. I talked to one guy before the cruise that is one here. He has a black with pinkish flamed procharged v6 mustang. And I seen one of you guys with a stangbangerz shirt on. Didnt get to talk to him. I met cquist. Nice guy. Enjoyed talking to him. At E20 I talked to the guys from the gto club. I seen Steve's car there but didnt get a chance to go over and introduce myself. Car sounded and looked badass. I didnt run, Im having clutch issues. Maybe next time. It was an early night for me due to the rain. My first time out. Had a good time. Looking forward to attending more. And meeting some of you guys. Thanks

Thanks to all that came out. The weather and track conditions were aweful. any car over 150hp had no traction. Everyone seemed pretty cool to me. I know that Procharged 3.8 can do way better. Kudos just for trying on a night like that. The Trans Am that was there was bad ass. Easily a 10 second car. The 128 trap speed on a night like that is crazy. For what its worth we may try again next Friday. Nice to meet you guys.

Nice car. What was your best time? Now that you have a few passes under your belt, next time you can really get down to business with that thing. LOL!!!
