We bought our house without a Realtor. No commission fees, no bullshit, it was awesome. We negotiated the price with the owner, lined up financing through my bank, and had real estate attorney handle the closing. Cost less than $1000 for the whole ordeal.

You can do it. Here is a link to an agreement form.http://www.buyincomeproperties.com/freeforms/AgreementForPurchaseAndSaleOfRealEstate.html There are others out there. One thing you MUST do is have the sale contingent on a house inspection to your liking, an appraisal and financing. I have done it and it worked out fine. I also used to sell real estate for Sibsy Cline.

Its not a big deal but definitely find a real estate attorney and let them do the paperwork.

I've wondered about this too, I'm house shopping right now myself...

Thanks, I got a purchase agreeement that one of our real estate offices use and I have filled it out. Do I need to have a real estate attorney look it over before I give it to the homeowner to accept? or does the real estate attorney come in at closing?

You can get a real estate lawyer to look over the contract, but dont have too if you have a good idea that everything is covered. No need for them to be at the closing.
