Yeah that year Cobra bumper would've looked sick, but a Mach 1 chin spoiler would set it off nicely.

Thanks for the comments guys, it was a little windy the day i took the pics so the tag does look to be photo shopped although it's not lol. I am planning on swapping front and rear bumper covers this winter, the rear has the disconnect mounted on the top and i am going to change it to the push/pull type and I do want the cobra front.I spent enough on this from last october till now so these things will have to wait. The hood is from VFN, I will post pics of the engine bay. It needs a little paint work which I will do this winter too or earlier,whenever i have to pull the engine hopefully not soon. I have to get out to do some testing once the track opens, I will say the car makes over 1000 hp.

Heading to my first car show tomorrow morning, 3 days in doors. Should be a good time. Hopefully get testing soon and see what it's like to run something like this.Fastest I've gone before is 10.72@127 in my other car so hope this one will atleast do that...lol...as far as selling this car I don't want to yet.

Well last night my buddy and I both took best in our class at the show.Now that this show is out of the way it's time to focus on learning how to tune the car and start making some passes on this hotrod.First test session May 20th can't wait!

I will keep you fellas posted, just have a few little things left to do...change oil,tranny fluid,diff fluid,set up anti roll bar,change bushings in gear drive,keys on end of crankshaft and check all bolts to make sure they are tight and should be good to go.

Loaded up and ready to go testing this weekend. Hopefully it don't rain as it has been here for the last week. The track will be green so I don't think there will be great numbers but we will see...can't wait to test...

Good luck. I have a buddy that has been testing the drag radial waters this year with a mod motor. Things were going pretty well until he put a rod through the side of his aluminum 5.4L block.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I must say this car is a little nasty...lol... Did some testing this weekend and man I got an eye opener. Fastest I had ever been in my 83 coupe was 10.70's and just under 130mph. I knew I had alot to learn with this car. 1st pass was 13.25@98 with a 1.14 60ft got out of it as it scared the crap out of me when it started to hook. 2nd pass was 10.92@131 1.48 60ft. 3rd pass was 10.32@166.1 with a 1.60 60ft. 4th pass was 9.38@161.5 with a 1.38 60ft. Had to soften the tune alot so I could hook it at first but it's still blowing the tires off out around 90-100ft. Test again in 2 weeks. Going to work on the tune a little more to see if we can get it hooked up. definately has some power for a 4.6 and an F1R. Have a feeling with a good 60ft the car should go low 8's! We will see. I will keep updated.

I have to apologize, it was a 1.41 60ft...my bad. long day yesterday trying to figure out how to tune the Big Stuff 3...lol...sorry again. Hope the car will be down to low 1.20's for 60ft times.

Well we just got back from testing again and went 8.57@163 1.38 60ft and changed a few things in the tune and went back out to check egt's as a few cylinders were getting high before end of run and went 8.41@139 with a 1.31 60ft time letting out of it around the 1100ft mark...need to add more fuel now to get the egt's down. Testing again in 3 weeks. Can't wait!

Well made it back from the track. The good is I set a personal best of 8.38@166 on the only pass I run today. The bad is when I got back to the pit I noticed some oil coming out of the vac puke tank. Did a leak down test and 3 cylinders are toast.Back to the drawing board! I will post pics of the rebuild LOL.

Well she's done for awhile...cracked the block between cylinders 5,6,7. Good thing is I thought I may have messed up the tune and junked her but thats not the case. Cylinders are cracked 3" from the top down. I guess I know now why it was shoving oil out...lol... not sure where the road goes from here but time will tell.

FRPP Cast Iron and I am having it filled with hard block for extra strength.

Well block is here. It's going to spend the next couple days getting machined then back to the engine builder for line honing and other machining. Pistons should be here tomorrow or monday from CP. Torque plate is here and all the tooling from BHJ to o-ring the cylinders. The custom copper head gaskets are here also. By the end of next week I am hoping to have the short block close to being complete...see what happens.

Things are going back together. Hope to have the engine finished tomorrow and heat cycled, re-torque the heads and then get it back in the car in the next few days and check for leaks. Off to the track next weekend if all goes well...

Just got back from another weekend at the track... Got the car tuned a little more. Went an 8.05@175 then backed it up with an 8.04@175. Took the win in drag radial with an 8.14@174 pedaling... It will touch the 7's i'm sure. I was going to try for it today but the engine developed a rattle up top, rocker or timing chain I think. We will take it apart soon and see what happened.

Definately a timing chain issue, guide come out of place. I can only hope it didn't jump a tooth! This thing is pretty close tolerance... I will keep you all posted.

Well got this thing apart finally and it broke one of the timing chain tensioner dowel pivot pins flush with the block. That's not going to be fun to get out. I wish it was threaded in like the teksid blocks. Oh well have all winter I guess.

Well it's been awhile but I got the pin out and a new one in. Also modified a few things and see if it helps support the pin more than before... hope to go testing soon and see if we can get this thing in the 7 second zone...also over the winter months I went to Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School and got my competition license so maybe I can head to other tracks in the future. My wife and I also were at the spring break NMRA Bradenton race helping Phil Hines... been a good winter, still alive LOL

Well never did hit the 7 sec zone this year. I battled gremlins all year and finally found the issue at Shakedown in NJ a short time ago. I've had a leaking inter-cooler and that explains all the terrible luck all year... better luck next year! LOL

Going under the knife soon to get tranny freshened, sending blower to get checked,axles and need an inter cooler as it's leaking water...they aren't cheap! $2700 bucks! Good thing is engine is hangng together :) so far... LOL

Just a quick update... I'm still alive and we are still at it. We have managed a best of 7.87@176 with this car so far. We can run consistent 7.90's -8.00's taken some time and lots of broken parts to get it dialed in :)

It's the same combo as before. Still a 4.6 based mod motor with an F1R Procharger, 2 spd TCI Glide, stock suspension. I use all UPR Pro Series stuff under the car. We are using the MT 275 Pro tire now and that seems to help some. We are still rocking the power windows also [emoji16]
