The Capri is street driven more than you think on pump gas. I know Tim had his car on a very small shot and the NOS coming on 2 second down the track. The car has been 9.28 this year. Yesterday he took it to the track and ran a 5.72 @ 119.9 with a 1.28 60ft on the rear tires. He could have really made you look slow if wanted but hes not that kind of guy. Like Adam said long as he's hanging out with his family and friends thats all that matters to him not some race where people always complain.
Also Tim wanted to ask if you wanted to meet and drive to Kil-Kare and race a heads race for some $. LMK and I will tell him a time and date?

Okay, typical Middletucky crap. Not Tim, but you. I never said his car wasn't street driven. Please quote anywhere I said that.
I never complained, i had no expectations on winning even before I knew anything goes. I went to have a good time and I did. Tim was a great guy, and his car did great. I think this is now the 5th time i've posted this.
I was very happy with my placing, i honestly didn't think i would place that high. Had some of the other cars showed that were supposed to, but went 8.5 racing, I wouldn't have. I immediately placed the #2 sticker on the car (next to all my other stickers) and was proud to do so.
Personally, for me, I was pleased as hell that I was the fastest car to drive to and from the event. That has nothing to do with his car, and is in no way intended to take away from his car. That was my personal goal. Everyone has their own goals with their cars. I said his car ran on slicks and was trailered home, which was perfectly legal for this event! HE WON!
Once i get the belt slipped worked out. The car should have no problems running 9's at over 3900lbs. Even at tristate. My 60's were off by 2 tenths, i was down 4 psi of boost from belt slip, and the car still ran great.
It's a daily driver, (not a "street car") that i drive whenever i can, i drove it 100 miles to and from the event. drove it 85 miles to and from the cruise in yesterday. Drove it work today, and will drive it everyday this week that it doesn't rain. Not because it won't go in the rain, because i try to keep it extra clean. I drove it to work saturday in the rain, to have for the event.
It's a car I can jump in and head to florida in if i want, and do it very comfortably. Thats the kind of car i want. Again, no reflection of his car.
I have no delusions that I have the fastest street car in the greater cincinnati area. Do I think I have one of the fastest daily drivers, yes.

Sounds like that four letter word that starts with a E because he has some people spending their dime so he can go play. Pretty simple put together a sponsor proposal and you might get sponsored. You need to remember Terry has a history in the NMRA which a lot of us don't, so getting sponsors was a lot easier than just buying a "NEW" car.

Sorry that i've taken my brand new car and beat the shit out of it since the day after buying it. Bought it Saturday, hit the track with 100 miles on it Sunday and have been beating the shit out of it since.
Sorry I drove it to North Carolina 11 hours, raced it, drove it home.
Sorry I drove it 4 hours to Bowling Green, won the race, and drove it home 4 hours and people recognize that and want their name on my car.
Anyone on here that says they wouldn't take $1000, or $2000, or $3000 or whatever $ or a part, to throw a sticker on their car for the year is just flat out lying.
Come the end of the year, the stickers will come off, and the car will still be as fast. Sorry your tired ass middletucky crap isn't recognized by anyone other than the cops. Probably why you have to change cars so often.
You think it's easy to get near 4000 lbs down the track, factory transmission, on drag radials, in damn near 9 second e.t. marks, all while being able to drive it 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 hours, you have another thought coming.
I'll tell ya what, i'll use Tim's car as an example since you did. You put enought ballast in his car to bring it to 3900lbs, trailer it down to Amelia walmart, we'll drive the 63 miles to kil care on some drag radials, NO changes. No pills, no pulley changes, no fuel, no air, nothing. We'll do a best 2 outta 3 and then make the 63 mile drive back.
Or, if we really want to do a real battle of the street cars, we can do the same thing this weekend and drive them to Chicago and race them at the nmra event. Should only be a 4 or 5 hour drive. I know i'm up for it. Fuel would be allowed of course since it's a long drive.
Thats not a shot at Tim's car, it was just the car that bbford used in the example for the others reading.
I drove my car to work 5 days this past week, one of them in the rain, drove to the track Saturday and yesterday over an hour with no changes to the car other than air (oh wait, 45lb seat removed saturday), and to a cruise in an hour away on Sunday.
The car was out every day but Wednesday this week. I don't know many people that drive "race cars" 500 miles / 6 days a week or 4 or 11 hours to a race. My car is not only "not" a race car, it is a true daily driver.
This race was Craigs race. The race was ran by Craigs rules, and the outcome was what it was. There is no disputing that and there never was.
How bout this though, bbford. We do another shootout under my rules, since my car is so unimpressive.
Heres my rules.
Licensed, Insured.
3900lb minimum weight, drag radials, factory transmission (the trans that came in the car, not an aftermarket one, manuals allowed upgraded clutch, auto's allowed a converter). Ahh fuk it, you can have your aftermarket transmissions.
60 Mile cruise to the track. Only change allowed is air pressure. Best 2 outta 3 and then we'll make the 60 mile drive back. When can I expect your car to be ready for the race?
Anyone else welcome of course as well.

But for what it is. A true daily driven, heavy ass pig of a street car, i think it's pretty bad ass.
In the end, thats all that matters.
I've been very fortunate on getting help with this car. But it's not like I haven't worked for it. I've been racing part time to full time in the NMRA and locally for almost 12 years.

No one is saying Tim's car is just as streetable than yours, so there's no need to "put ballast in his car and all that dumb shit, we know your car is fast and reliable, no one can doubt that, and if they do they're apparently blind. BUT Tim's car fit the rules of the street car shootout, and he won. That's all there is to it. Make 10,000 excuses, complaints, whatever, and there's no denying that he did what was asked, and did well.
Not saying you made excuses, just saying in general.

First off im not a middletuckian. I dont live in Middletown, Second no I dont need a $1000 or 2 that bad to put ugly gay ass stickers all over my car I drive everyday. But then again my fatass wouldnt have tried to sell diet pills on the internet to make a few bucks either. Just saying.........How about we do your race but we have to run stock clutch. car has to weigh at least 4900 lbs has to have stock exhaust and stock suspension.so throw a 1000 lbs of balast in the trunk and let me know when you wanna race my daily driver , that i drive eveyday. see how gay that sounds cant belive you would even come up with shit like that CRY BABY

Am I the only one seeing that Terry is trying to justify his Runner Up and not winning the Shoot-out?
WHO FUCKING CARES!!
The race is over, Tim won and YOU came in 2nd! Get over it or step it up next time!
I should go kick Ray in the junk for not stepping up his NOS jet...
How many times can I say it for Christs sakes. I know of plenty of other cars that could have shown up to the shootout, and went faster than me ore even won. (That is not intended to take away from Tim's win)
At this point, I wish at least one or two more had. It's got nothing to justify 2nd place at your shootout. There are plenty of street legal cars in the area that are faster than my car. So, I'll say it again, i'm not the fastest, i'm not the 2nd fastest, i'm not the 3rd fastest, i'm not the 4th fastest. i'm not the 5th fastest, ect....
BBR made a post in this thread, and I responded to it. I quoted his post in the post, i stated it was directed at his post, i stated Tim's car was used as an example because bbr used it as an example, and then I called bbr out.
I don't know how to make it any clearer than that.

Your the one that made the comment about my car, I never made a comment about your car.
I thought you'd puss out, just like you puss out with a hidden name.
As far as how I came up with it, it's simple. It's called heads up racing rules. Every race / orginization has them. Craigs shootout had them.
There is always a weight rule, there is always a tire rule. In true street you make a cruise, you make 3 runs. your only allowed to change tire pressure.
My car weighs 3900 lbs and runs on drag radials, you think it ain't shit, so bring your car out at 3900lbs on drag radials and lets run.

Again, i'm not whining about it. I am making a retalitory statement to a statement that was made. It's not whining. It's called responding.
If I wanted a cookie cutter, i'd build a cookie cutter. What i'm saying is, i'll race anyone at my weight on drag radials.
If you say that my car is running slow for what it is / power it has, i'm saying, bring out your car at the same weight and the same tire, and prove to me how slow I am? It's not whining, it's a challenge.
