I see 7.3's goin anywhere from 10-14k they hold there value really well, not sure on that low milage of a truck but im assuming 2wd will drop the price a bit,I get anywhere from about 20-22mpg on highway mines extended cab 2001 4x4.

Mine is a 2k and had 95k miles on it when I bought it. Got it for around 12k. Lower miles like that I would assume around 13k or so would be a good deal, and if you can get it less than that, it's a smokin deal. Mine is XLT, 2wd, and is not a dually. Dually uses more fuel than a single rear wheel. Mine is also a 4 door with 8 foot bed. I get around 20 mpg with mine.

Stay far far away from the 6.0 liter. We haved towed numerous ones for blown head gaskets . Some were tow vehicles and some were not. From what i hear from the ford mechanics , they are not fun to work on either. Most places pull the cab to work on the 6.0 liter.

When you get it I'll trade you my mustang for it

and heres that downside clarence, the roofs rot out and rust, cab corners also rot, bedsides above wheel wells rot out,i aint ssen one that hasn't or need's the front end rebuilt ,$100 oil changes, they eat brakes up,and after the 4th month of daily driving you will hate it,feels like it takes 10 hrs to go somehere 2 hrs away,if you used it for work everyday there nice, but you see alot of them for sale, people get tired of them after a yr if your in them everyday, there high maintience and expensive to keep up,but like everyone said they do hold there value

Don't be afraid of the 6.0 its a good motor if the egr and head studs and gasket have been done. They have good power also, I personally still like my old 7.3 for now I guess

Dont waste your time with a v8. Cummins is the way to go!!

I have to agree with Z06 on this one. I looked at a couple power strokes before buying both my Dodges, and there just wasn't much comparison. Different strokes for different folks though

I love my cummins, just hate the dodge part of it.

I have to agree with the 3 former posts . I have a friend who has an 05 dodge dually 4 door with the cummins and it kills any powerstroke ive drove. Its a very nice truck too. We havent found anything it cant pull.

I'm not sure where people get the idea that the Cummins is SO much better than the Powerstroke. I will agree that a Cummins is HARD to beat, but truck for truck....yes hes buying a TRUCK, not a motor, The FORD with the powerstroke 7.3 will be the better truck. I agree to stay far away from the 6.0 unless you want to dump some cash into it.

But to answer your question, Im thinking the price will be higher than most are saying here. To find a truck like that, with that LOW of mileage...I have seen them go for 16k'ish. Its so hard to find a one owner well maintained stock 7.3 like that and they are selling for a premium. Look at Beefcakes old 7.3, hell I sold my 2000 powerstroke with 225k miles for 10k. My best guess would be in the 15-16k range tops. Good luck finding another one owner 50k mile 7.3 powerstroke near mint....and getting to it before it sells for a fair price.

well i may kick my self in the ass for this move?

i think im going to pass on the 7.3 the truck is super clean its just way more truck than i need and cobraman you were dead on the price he want 15k for the truck and i still think thats a fair deal after looking at and driving the truck
keep in mind it was owned by a 70 year old man so it has some real cool lights and mud flaps lol
well anyhow i test drove a 05 6.0 stroke today and i agree stock vs stock they do run better but after looking at the oasis report and the fact that the truck has been in the shop over 40 times in 90k most of it for major repairs i think ill pass on all 6.0 strokes

so anyhow im headed 100 miles tomorrow to look at a 2003.5 ram 2500 crew cab
once again its a 1 owner with all records never modded and by the pics its just a clean as the 50k stroke with a ton more option
only downside is 150k but its more of what im looking for in a truck. tow rig for the weekend and still could be a decent daily driver
im not pulling much weight anyhow just a 20ft enclosed with a golf cart and a jr dragster
prob 5000 lbs max
i can pull everything with no problems with my avalanche but just dont let my wife know that lol
so cummins guys spill your beans on some mods
can i run a tuner like a stroke? if so who makes a good one? i was running a dp on my stroke and i loved it. also will the tuner tweek my trans like increse line pressure, lock up the convertor, ect
also what exhaust are you guys running? air box ect?
thanks for all the help guys

This is gonna sound weird coming from me, but I have a friend who has an '03 Duramax.... and that thing runs circles around a cummins! And his is cheaper to fix than a ford with a powerstroke. Im quite impressed and actually like the duramax...

I feel dirty after saying that

I agree Jesse, If I bought a newer diesel right now it would be a Duramax GMC.

Doesnt IZUZU make duramax?

Not sure about that. I think it's just DMAX in Moraine, Ohio that makes the engines now. I could be wrong though.

I owned a 09 DMAX and yes its made by Isuzu which is proven time and time again.....Not to mention the best tranny in the class......Mine was tuned with EFI live (GM only), exhaust with no DPF, and it was a complete badass! Hell of a truck and motor.........If you can swing it even the early to mid 2000's are great. They have the LB7 engine in them and can kick serious ass with EFI live

If you have questions call and speak to Brayden at Fleece Performance. They are in Indy and have some un-real products and services. Get on there site or you tube and listen to the new cheetah turbo they have for DMAX..........Mean ass trucks out there

Most people with common rails will say go with a Smarty or TST , which are nasty , but it all depends on what you want. I went with Edge Attitude CTS because all the gauges are built in. My truck has a 4" AFE exhaust and I think it sounds like shit. MBRP sounds good as does FloPro. Any of the sealed box cold air kits are good. I personally like the S&B kit. 100 horse injectors and a Silver Bullet 64 turbo also make a nice combo! Just be prepared to build the tranny If you do to much though .

i was thinking a smarty jr and 4 inch mbrp exhaust
i just dont want to hurt the trans i would run it on the 70hp tune max

I was'nt happy with the smarty, I went with the edge w\additude, stacked the bully dog w\crazy larry program with the hot unlock!! inj and fuel system are classified!! Your trans will be fine as long as u dont hook to a sled!!
