Ok so here is the deal i have a 95 mustang gt that is having some charging problems. I have searched online and gone through basically all the normal steps to fixing the problem but still is doing the same thing.

well when i start it everything is fine runs perfect no problems. after i have driven it for a bit and put a good load on it the battery gauge will drop down eventually and if i turn it off and start it up again real quick it will start but is missing a ton of juice. The other day when driving tach died down and all electrical went out. then came back on real quick but bat. gauge was down to the o.

my next step is to start taking volt. readings which i know would be more help.

this is what i have changed so far
alternator
battery
bat. to starter wire
bat to fuse wire
ground to engine
ground to frame
even added two grounds to each head(read somewhere it helps)
fuse box to alternator wire

on every ground connection i pbr'ed it then sanded it down heavy and light grit and used new bolts or nuts.

i have also replaced all spark plugs, plug wires, dist cap, and coil

any help would be appreciated

was kind of wondering if there was a common problem that i have overlooked on our cars. It's starting to get warm here and driving a 98 olds alero is nowhere near as fun as a mustang..

thanks

I had a similar problem on my 95 gt. It was because I had one of those bolt on type battery termanals on the ground wire for the battery.

Just a thought

I got a whole new cable, but you can buy a solder on type. You just heat it with a torch and stick the wire in while the solder is still melted

My volts was reading low and my oil pressure was reading high. It was not cranking well when starting. I don't remember exactly what it was since it was about 10 years ago. An automotive shop put some type of computer scope on it to figure it out.

hey thanks for your help went through all the electrical minusthe main harness found sh*t cut up everywhere and there was one of those half ass viper alarms from best buy that someone did a horrible job on and was still connected to the + and - . and they also on the cd player the + and ground were practically wrapped together and smelled like that electrical fire ish smell and there was about 5 hanging and spliced wires that were just out loose. and then i tightened the battery so tight that the terminals and myself were crying haha. Seemed to really fix the problem for sure

thanks so much though

couldnt be a nicer day for it to go right too :)
